A gorgeous deep ruby color with purple shadows. Aromas are fresh and intense pure fruit. Aromas of ripe blueberries and concentrated black fruit dominate on an inviting, full and complex nose. Plum tones on the palate, with toasty oak supporting firm acidity and integrated tannins. An elegant, well balanced, wine with deep, rich fruit, fine polish and a long finish.

Clos Apalta is the ultimate expression of Casa Lapostolle's dedication to quality made from the best grapes from our Apalta vineyard. This wine, not produced every year, is a belnd of Merlot, Carmenere, and Cabernet Sauvignon from 60-100 year old pre-phylloxera vines.

WINE SPECTATOR REVIEW: Beautiful color, with vivid boysenberry and blackberry fruit flavors that easily handle the layers of vanilla-tinged toast. Roasted herb, briar and black currant notes run through the finish, which shows the firm edge of the vintage, but a superb effort nonetheless. Carmenère, Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon.
