2005 Mille Roses Haut-Medoc 750ml
60% Cabernet Sauvignon and 40% Merlot. Having worked in the vineyards of Burgundy, Provence and Jurancon, David Faure decided to return to his native Médoc to launch his own wine, beginning with the 1999 vintage, with the creation of Chateau Mille Roses in Macau just next to the Margaux appellation.
The 12.4 acre vineyard is planted with 25 and 30 year old vines of 60% Cabernet Sauvignon and 40% Merlot. The wines are aged for 12 months in 75% French oak and 25% Hungarian and American oak barrels. About 33% of the barrels are renewed each year. The French publication, La Revue du Vin de France named David Faure “Winemaker of the Year” in 2003.
