2007 MacRostie Wildcat Mountain Vineyard Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir 750ml
MacRostie Winery and Vineyards was founded by winemaker Steve MacRostie in 1987. As a believer in the unique character of Carneros fruit, and an innovative winemaker pioneering a more fresh and sophisticated style of Chardonnay, Steve dedicated himself to crafting wines embodying an authentic sense of place.
The grapes for this Pinot Noir came exclusively from our Wildcat Mountain Vineyard, owned by Steve MacRostie and his partners Nancy and Tony Lilly. Here the vines dig into the sparse volcanic soil and stand firm against the strong winds that race in off of the Pacific Ocean most afternoons. This fog-shrouded mountaintop vineyard is a classic Sonoma Coast site, cool and challenging, and produces wines of great distinction.

WINE ENTHUSIAST REVIEW: MacRostie’s Pinots from this vineyard on the edge of the Sonoma side of Carneros always are big, ripe, powerful and ageable. This ’07 shows the fat, ripe character of the vintage, offering luscious raspberry, cherry, cola, red currant liqueur, bacon, anise, spice and sandalwood flavors. But it’s balanced enough to change in interesting ways over the next 5–7 years. Really a glamorous wine for your best meals. Editors’ Choice.

OMG!!!! Just had this awesome wine with some barbecue. My friends were totally impressed by how perfectly this Pinot went with tri tip and sausages. It was fun to drink something refreshing rather than beer. Couldn't pass up the opportunity to barbecue with the beautiful weather we've been having in Cali. I love the 2007 vintage for Pinot Noir and the Macrostie is a no brainier. 95 points for under $30 is almost impossible to find. The wine has great structure and character. (Posted on 1/18/12)Rating
