2008 d'Arenberg Stump Jump Red McLaren Vale South Australia 750ml

Quick Overview

Wine Spectator Top 100: 2010 #63! The name 'Stump Jump' relates to the significant South Australian invention, the Stump Jump plough. This plough became a popular piece of machinery for ploughing fields because of its ability to ride over stumps and gnarled "mallee" Eucalypt roots and snags, saving valuable time and resources by not stopping the draught horse.

2008 d'Arenberg Stump Jump Red McLaren Vale South Australia 750ml

42% Grenache, 36% Shiraz, 22% Mourvedre. The 2008 Stump Jump Red has a nose of ripe and juicy red fruits and fresh plums mixed with dark cherry, rhubarb and cardamon. The palate is soft and generous, with juicy fresh red berries, mulberry and a hint of pomegranate. Underlying is a more subtle layer of plum stone, star anise and cinnamon which adds complexity and interest, with soft powdery tannins to finish.
