2008 Dehlinger Estate Russian River Valley Pinot Noir 750ml
Dehlinger has been producing Estate-grown Russian River Valley Pinot noir since the late 1970s, and to this day, all fruit comes from the Dehlinger Vineyard. Planted between 1975 and 1989, the Pinot vines are primarily clones of Pommard and Swan, with smaller amounts of Dijon 777 and Martini.
WINE SPECTATOR RATING: 95WINE SPECTATOR REVIEW: Aromas of plum and blackberry jam turn firm and intense on the palate, gaining depth, nuance and traction. Finishes with a strong burst of flavors. Drink now through 2018.
ROBERT PARKER RATING: 93ROBERT PARKER REVIEW: The flagship Pinot, the 2008 Pinot Noir Estate, comes from the finest hilltop parcels in his beautiful Russian River vineyard. Its dense plum/ruby color is followed by a perfumed nose of forest floor, and sweet black raspberries, black cherries and plums intermixed with a hint of Asian spice. Fleshy and medium to full-bodied with silky tannins, good acidity and purity, it demonstrates a commitment to intelligent winemaking. These wines are never over-oaked or extreme in any fashion. The 2008 Pinot Noirs continue Dehlinger’s nearly unbroken record of success with Pinot that started in the mid-seventies.
