2009 Cameron Hughes Lot 285 Rutherford Cabernet Sauvignon (Closeout) 750ml
Lot 285 2009 Rutherford District Cabernet Sauvignon is a wine that we're required to keep under wraps. However, there are plenty of details I CAN tell you that cement this vineyard as one of the best in Napa Valley. This classic Rutherford site straddles the old Conn Creek drainage, which has deposited gravelly loam soils there for over thousands of years. What's interesting about this vineyard is how pinpoint the soil quality is; go a couple hundred yards in just about any direction and the fruit sells for about half the price. UPDATE: I passed on some mis-information. The vineyards was not planted by Andre Tchelistcheff but by an equally famous Napa personality. Unfortunately, I cannot name this person as it would disclose the source of the wine. I apologize for any confusion. What is not confusing is how great this wine is. Give it a try. -Cameron
