2009 Flowers Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir 750ml
The Sonoma Coast’s rocky, well-drained terrain and direct proximity to the cool Pacific Ocean allows us to grow and produce Pinot Noir with exceptional complexity, depth, minerality, and natural acidity. The 2009 Sonoma Coast is a blend of diverse “extreme” Sonoma Coast vineyards including our two estate vineyards Sea View Ridge and Camp Meeting Ridge.
WINE & SPIRITS RATING: 93
WINE & SPIRITS REVIEW: This is consistently one of the most restrained and delicate pinots you'll find in California. A blend from far-coast sites, in 2009 this is 30 percent from Flower's Sea View Ranch, plus fruit from the DZ and Peterson vineyards and other western Sonoma sites in the Sebastopol and Occidental areas. It's long on strawberry- and cranberry-scented fruit, layered with the complexity that far-coast pinot can attain, a complexity that seems to be tied to the acidic, ridge-top soils where conifer forests once thrived. The structure leaves room for food, like grilled fennel sausage.
