Sherman & Hooker's Shebang (Bedrock Wine Co.) Cuvee IV Sonoma Valley Red Blend 750ml

Quick Overview

The new hot shot winemaker Morgan Twain-Peterson is making some of the top reds in California. (Son of Joel Peterson founder of Ravenswood) Morgan has sourced some of the top zinfandel and syrah fruit in Sonoma to make this easy drinking red. Shows wonderful jammy blackberry tones and phenominal structure for a wine in this price range. For those of you who love the Folie a Deux Menage a trois this is a great alternative.

Sherman & Hooker's Shebang (Bedrock Wine Co.) Cuvee IV Sonoma Valley Red Blend 750ml

Bedrock is an itsy-bitsy winery making wine in a converted chicken coop. Fruit from only the most excellent vineyard sites is hand pitch-forked into the destemmer, fermented in open top redwood and stainless vats using only native yeasts, and are manually basket pressed by winemaker Morgan Twain-Peterson into the sexiest oak from the coldest French forests.

ROBERT PARKER REVIEW: The NV Shebang IV bursts from the glass with masses of dark, plump fruit. This juicy, mouth-filling red delivers incredible quality for the money in an up-front generous style meant to be enjoyed over the next year or two. The main varieties are Petite Sirah, Syrah and Alicante Bouschet. If there is a better value in California wine, I would like to know about. This is a ridiculously delicious wine for $12 a bottle. Anticipated maturity: 2012-2014.
