The 2006 Paisajes V is a blend of 40% Tempranillo, 40% Garnacha, 10% Graciano, and 10% Mazuelo sourced from a single 1.3-hectare parcel. It reveals notes of earth, underbrush, spice box, black cherry, and blackberry leading to a round, ripe wine with some elegance. The flavors are pleasing but the wine could use greater depth and concentration. Drink it over the next six years.
Blackberry and boysenberry flavors are a bit jammy in this thick red. Sweet vanilla adds a candy note, but it has intensity, and firm tannins and crisp acidity keep it focused.
