Made from the top virgin sugar cane. The Zaya Rum 12 year old was matured in fine oak barriques for 12 years before its release. Very deep mahogany hue. Butterscotch, coconut, toasted wood, brown sugar aromas. Full-bodied. Soft rich textures with a seamless feel. Finish of wonderfully spicy fruit flavors.

Flavor is firm, bittersweet, focused and more maple-like than sugary. Ends moderately oily and keenly bittersweet. In that league of aged rums that begin to resemble brandies.
