WINE SPECTATOR REVIEW: Beautifully crafted, sleek and elegant, sharply focused on ripe, rich cherry, currant, plum and berry. Picks up pretty floral and spicy nuances and the tannins, while firm, are supple and integrated. Best from 2000 through 2007.
An elegant, intensely concentrated wine with vibrant deep color, aromas of cedar, pepper and cassis, and rich, jam-like flavors of blackberry and dark cherry. Kenwood Vineyards’ twentieth Artist Series Cabernet Sauvignon features a very special and nostalgic label created by San Francisco Bay Area artist David Lance Goines. The exceptional growing season of 1994 produced some of the best Cabernet Sauvignon fruit Kenwood has ever had the pleasure to work with. The fruit chosen for the 1994 Artist Series cuvée came from the Lindholm and Montecillo Vineyards, both of which are located at an elevation of about 1,400 feet on the Mayacamas mountain range, bordering the eastern side of Sonoma Valley. Both vineyards are low-yielding, producing less than three tons per acre of intensely flavored fruit.
