The smoky, rich, dense purple-colored 1998 Shiraz/Cabernet Sauvignon possesses lots of fruit and power. This mouthfilling, beefy, smoky, peppery wine will provide delicious drinking over the next decade.
Distinct blackberry/ blackcurrant (Cassis) flavors, the characteristic of a good Coonawarra Shiraz/Cabernet Sauvignon. Mulberry and blackberry are dominant fruit flavors enhanced by a young tight palate with silky grape tannin and elegant complex cedar oak, so typical of the Penley Style. A wine that is closer to full-bodied with more grape and oak tannins but still maintains beautiful balance.
