Always a favorite among the staff, this shows the best of both Barossan Shiraz and Cabernet. Beautiful intense cassis with spice box and tobacco leaf. The fine chalky tannins of the Cabernet are perfectly complimented by the luscious fleshy texture of the Shiraz. Medium to full bodied showing rich blackcurrant fruit with a restrained elegance that begs for food with deep earthy flavors.

ROBERT PARKER REVIEW: A blend of 65% Shiraz and 35% Cabernet Sauvignon, the 2004 The Bull and the Bear possesses a dense ruby/purple color, tremendous flavor intensity, and abundant creme de cassis notes intermixed with notions of cedar, licorice, blackberries, and currants. The fabulous aromatics are followed by a wine with wonderful purity, richness, and a seamless integration of acidity, tannin, alcohol, and wood.
Initially dense and fleshy, the liquorice, loganberry and dark currant flavours roll across the palate. This is beautifully balanced and finishes with soft and expressive tannins that remain juicy and concentrated throughout. Very drinkable now but will evolve over the years.
