2005 Le Petit Mouton-Rothschild Pauillac

SKU #500570
Beautiful rich tones of Pauillac. A deep color with a nose of ripe berry fruit, with some mineral tones, and hints of smoke. On the palate the wine is elegant with developed tannins, and leads to a silky, well-balanced, long finish.

STEVE TANZAR REVIEW: Ruby-red. Pungent aromas of currant, lead pencil, minerals and flowers. Juicy, floral and precise, with a penetrating flavor of blackcurrant. In a leaner style but with lovely sweetness of fruit and some incipient complexity suggesting that this will be drinkable within four or five years. Very good for this second wine.
WINE SPECTATOR REVIEW: Licorice, mineral and currant aromas follow through to a medium-to-full body, with fine tannins and a mineral and currant aftertaste. Quite chewy. The second wine of Mouton-Rothschild. Best after 2011.
The wine has a fine, deep color with a ruby tint and a nose which reveals ripe berry fruit, some mineral notes and a touch of smoke that testifies to time well-spent in oak. The attack is full and substantial on elegant, refined tannins, silky and well-rounded, supporting a highly expressive palate with pleasant fruit, especially blackcurrant. The long, harmonious finish, typical of fine Pauillac wines, reveals all the richness of the vintage.
