Deep black in color with a slightly red hue. Aromas are Rich Cabernet Sauvignon aromas of fennel, cassis, currant, lavender, cut flowers, ginger, toffee and liquorish. On the palate with a very even entry, the palate coats all corners of the mouth and is balanced by dryness and elegance. The tannins are restrained slightly complementing the palate's astringency and mouthfeel.

ROBERT PARKER RATING: 95
ROBERT PARKER REVIEW: The 2006 Cabernet Sauvignon Coach House Block Roennfeldt Road offers up fragrant notes of pain grille, pencil lead, tar, black currant, and blackberry. Full-bodied and voluptuous on the palate, this glossy effort conceals enough ripe tannin to evolve for another 5-7 years. It should be at its best from 2015 to 2030.
STEVE TANZAR RATING: 94
STEVE TANZAR REVIEW: Opaque ruby. Deeply concentrated and youthfully brooding on the nose, with a slow-to-open bouquet of dark berry preserves, hot asphalt, cured tobacco, spicecake and crystallized flowers. Juicy blackberry, cassis and cherry-cola flavors are deepened by bitter chocolate and candied licorice, yet maintain improbable clarity. Manages to be deep and lively at once, and offers outstanding finishing clarity, energy and clinging persistence. There's no excess fat or warmth here, despite the fact that this weighs in at almost 17% alcohol. Pretty impressive.
WINE SPECTATOR RATING: 92
WINE SPECTATOR REVIEW: Ripe and aromatic. A big, fleshy Cabernet, with gorgeous cur¬rant and cherry fruit, picking up a strong minty note as the finish expands and becomes more expressive. It takes two or three sips for the tannins to slip in, yet they put a light but positive grip on the finish.
The fruit was harvested by machine and tonnages yielded were minute from this block: the berries are like skins around seeds, with huge amount of concentration but full of finesse. The fruit was crushed and de-stemmed into an open top fermenter, with time on skins at 19 days. At pressing, all free run and pressings are combined in tank and matured together.
