This wine displays a deep purple hue, and has great clarity for wine that is traditionally unfiltered. The bouquet offers scents of ripe black currant, smoke and saddle. Flavors include dark cherry and ripe plum flavors with a hint of vanilla and cocoa dust. Firm but approachable tannin structure accents a balanced and long finish.

Joseph Carr always has a classic Bordeaux style approach to his Cabernet Sauvignon employing Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Cabernet Franc in the final cuvee. It's all part of a mission to produce complex yet balanced wines that echo a European sensibility and exhibit approachability upon release.
The vineyard sources include Oakville 80%, St. Helena, Pritchard Hill, Los Carneros and Red Hills. I am highlighting Oakville in this vintage, where the most famous Oakville AVA terrain is located on the Western Bench, just above the Napa Valley floor at the base of the Mayacamas Mountains. Much of the famous Cabernet Sauvignon production comes from the Oakville Bench.
