2007 Paul Hobbs Beckstoffer Dr. Crane Vineyard Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
SKU #500417
This powerhouse cabernet sauvignon is black/garnet in color and bursting with aromas of red currant and espresso, complemented by subtle smoky, savory notes. The weighty palate commands attention with pure, concentrated, sinuous layers of red and black fruits, mocha, dried herbs and tar. Hints of vanillin and clean earth complement big, chewy tannins on an enduring finish.

ROBERT PARKER RATING: 96
ROBERT PARKER REVIEW: The 2007 Cabernet Sauvignon Beckstoffer Dr. Crane Vineyard exhibits a rocky, stony, gravelly, hot pebble-sort of nose that I often associate with wines such as Haut-Brion and La Mission Haut-Brion. Beautifully sweet blueberry and blackberry fruit along with a note of lead pencil shavings jump from the glass of this opaque purple-colored, full-bodied, intense wine. This brilliant Cabernet Sauvignon should evolve gracefully for 25-30+ years.
WINE SPECTATOR RATING: 97
WINE SPECTATOR REVIEW: Wonderfully exotic, with complex aromas of spice, cedar, currant, kirsch and blackberry that fold over to the rich, firm and full-bodied palate. Elegantly styled, layered and persistent. Simply a joy to drink.
Displaying a deep, black garnet hue, this muscular powerhouse opens with a nose of black plum, pencil lead and dried herbs that only hint at the intensity and expansiveness of the palate to follow. Abundant flavors of freshly picked blackberries, currants and espresso unfold in velvety succession over a mouth-coating palate. Ripe, sweet tannins surround the dense core of black fruits, complemented by hints of cedar and vanillin on a lasting finish. Alcohol 15.1%
