2021 Fritz Haag Brauneberger Juffer Riesling Auslese Mosel 750ml
SKU #5065675
Winery Notes- The terrifyingly steep Brauneberg hillside has been revered as a top vineyard site since the Romans first cultivated wine grapes in the Mosel valley in the second century. The Juffer vineyard surrounds the smaller Juffer Sonnenuhr on three sides, extending both upstream and downstream, as well as above the sundial. This vineyard produces lighter, more delicate wines than the warmer, riper Sonnenuhr. Auslese is a special selection of late-picked, very ripe clusters with about 50 percent botrytis-affected grapes.

JAMES SUCKLING REVIEW: Very cool and restrained, this has a very complex nose of crisp pear, fresh herbs with touches of rhubarb and passion fruit. Serious tension between mineral acidity and delicate fruit on the super-clean palate. Long precise and pristine finish. August 2022
ROBERT PARKER REVIEW: This is super clear and flinty on the beautifully reductive and precisely aromatic nose. Lush yet refined and crystalline on the palate, this is an intense, round and juicy, very elegant and mouth-watering Auslese with delicate lemon bitters on the finish. Excellent. August 2022
