Winery Notes- The Tablas Creek Vineyard Patelin de Tablas is a Paso Robles take on a classic Rhône blend: Syrah, Grenache, Mourvèdre, and Counoise. The wine incorporates fruit from several of the top Rhône vineyards in Paso Robles, each vineyard selected for its quality. Like many red wines from the Rhône Valley, it is based on the dark fruit, mineral and spice of Syrah. To that Syrah, we incorporate the brightness and fresh acidity of Grenache, the structure and meatiness of Mourvèdre, and a small addition of Counoise for complexity.

ROBERT PARKER REVIEW: Medium ruby in color, the 2021 Patelin de Tablas is a blend of 43% Syrah, 28% Grenache, 23% Mourvèdre and 6% Counoise. It has inviting aromas of blood orange, raspberry and pomegranate with touches of tar and forest floor. The medium-bodied palate is chalky and fresh with a concentrated core of crunchy fruit and a long, floral finish. Drink Date: 2023-2028

This easy-to-enjoy yet complex blend of 43% Syrah, 28% Grenache, 23% Mourvèdre and 6% Counoise only gets more delicious and thought-provoking each vintage. Aromas of lavender, violet and purple fruit on the nose lead into a floral show on the palate as well, where crisp plum-fruit flavors are wrapped in light tannins. Editors’ Choice
