Bozal Cuishe Mezcal
Distillery Notes- One of the most physically distinct species of agave, the Cuishe, a subspecies of the Karwinskii Family of agave, grows vertically as a single stalk with its leaves spreading at the top. Due to its unusual structure, and the stalk containing the firmer piña material, the Cuishe can be difficult to harvest and to work with in general. This agave offers aromas full of tropical fruit with a dry piney and mineral finish.$69.901 -

NETA Madrecuixe B'Game Reserve Exclusive Batch Miahuatlan Mezcal
Extremely Limited In the area surrounding San Luis Amatlán, Miahuatlán, the agave known as Madrecuixe has long been one of the most prized cultivars endemic to the region. These magueyes have a bluish-green colored penca or leaf, and an almost perfectly spherical rosette. In ideal conditions, its trunk-like piña typically can grow up to nearly six feet and weigh close to 200lbs in eight to twelve years. Well adapted to the arid and rocky terrain of eastern Miahuatlán and rich in sugars, these agaves play a quintessential role in local spirits production. Gilberto contacted us in March of 2023 on behalf of his sister, Florencia, who also helps with the family’s productions at their palenque. In June 2018, he had made a 200L batch of Madrecuixe, which he sold to his sister. In turn, she sold most of it years ago on the local market but kept the remaining 35 liters in decades-old glass carboys, safeguarded for a time in which she may need some extra funds. In planning for her December 2023 wedding, we were offered up the last of these delicious liters which were selected for this very special NETA release. After more than five years of resting in glass in a dark corner of the family’s house in Logoche, the flavors have rounded out and concentrated in beautiful fashion. It is prototypically expressive of the terruño (terroir) of the region, and given its age, a rare treat. Made with approximately 10-year-old agave, the timeline involved is extensive. Only 42 bottles are in existence.$147.9024+ -

Rayu Joven Ensamble Artesanal Mezcal
Distillery Notes- A mezcal with a big personality, crystalline color and aromas of citrus, minerals, and earth, with fresh herbal notes. Upon tasting, we enjoy an explosive blend of flavors with each agave contributing its own unique sensations. The Jabalí offers butter and hazelnut notes and a strong and wild character born of its untamed nature. Following are the mineral notes of the Madrecuixe (now known as Madrecuishe) bursting with flavors of moist earth, dried trees, and freshly cut herbs which then allow the entrance of the smooth and silky fruit tree and citrus notes offered by a fine Espadin agave which embraces the first two making a perfect combination for the palate. A truly unique mezcal perfect for the grandest occasions. A union of the rebellious and the cultivated for a perfect marriage.$54.902 -
La Medida Espadin Artesanal Mezcal
The man, the myth, the legend…the mysterious mezcalero Don Celso of Río Golea is spoken of in reverential terms by agave cognoscenti the world over. Celso distills only this one core varietal but does it so beautifully that we couldn’t dream of asking for anything else. This truly legendary Espadín speaks deeply of place, challenging every preconception about the variety you may have.$82.901 -
La Medida Madrecuishe Artesanal Mezcal
The “mother” of Agave karwinskii, the large and resinous Madrecuishe grows tall and proud in Miahuatlán. A long, cylindrical trunk (which once harvested resembles a huge cigar) is topped with a tall, green bloom of leaves, spreading out from the trunk’s heart. From this trunk or stem, the Madrecuishe carries a lot of fiber alongside its highly concentrated sugars. A balance of fruity and vegetal notes is a hallmark of the distillate, implying everything from leafy green herbs to sweet carrots to raspberry seeds. From Antonio Cortés Aragón, this is an outstanding and surprising example—green melon rind dances with the thick aroma of fresh peanut shells and traces of sweet green herbs like cilantro. Truly delightful.$99.902 -
Bozal Ensamble Mezcal

This is a light and easy sipping mezcal, which will delight and surprise you with its complex lingering finish.
