Cocchi Barolo Chinato
Distillery Note- Born in Piedmont in the last century, it soon spread thanks to its taste, well balanced between bitter and sweet, and especially for the leading effect on the market of its name “Barolo”, that immediately positioned it among the noblest products compared to various other types of alcoholic drinks based on cinchona. Inventor of this original recipe, Giulio Cocchi was also the protagonist of the diffusion of Barolo Chinato. In Italy its consumption was encouraged by the fame it gained as therapeutic wine. A traditional remedy in Piedmont to cure many small sicknesses, especially in case of cooling. Drunk as a vin brulé, hot and invigorating, its antipyretic and digestive capacities were widely recognized. Serving it to the guests became a typical tradition of the farmers’ hospitality. Over time, the use of this aromatized wine changed and today, in the general wake to recover traditions and naturality, it’s been rediscovered with new and interesting consumption styles.$64.903 -

Kubler Swiss Absinthe (1 Liter)
Rated The #1 Absinthe By The New York Times Distillery Notes- Kubler is distilled in the Val-de-Travers, from a local harvest of sumptuous herbs and purest alcohol, utilizing a recipe dating back to 1863. The style of this Absinthe is La Bleue; it is clear, has no added sugar and it is delicious. Kubler is nicely aromatic with light but generous floral notes that are beautifully released when water is added which results in a gorgeous white louche. On the palate you find the usual suspects, among we notice wormwood, fennel, coriander, and anise. While they are finishing, the flavors spread and resolve with light mint notes into a complex wormwood bitterness-- splendid. This absinthe is made with such finesse I found no us for sugar. Try this as an aperitif, an afternoon fortifier, with creamy desserts, as a base to many cocktails, or to add depth to any cocktail.
