Frank August Case Study: 03 Winter Rye Kentucky Straight Rye Whiskey
Frank. The state of being open, honest and sincere. A philosophy we have built our brand upon. Bourbon is America’s native spirit, but as intrinsically steeped in the American experience as bourbon is, it has predominantly had one story; one of origin. Respectfully, we believe there is a more expansive story to tell, one that belongs to all of us because it will be told by all of us. Frank August exists to evolve the identity of bourbon by uniting authenticity with modernity. Taking the best of where we’ve been and projecting those ideals into where we have yet to go. So let the story of bourbon continue; as the story of Frank August begins.$115.903 -

Barrell Craft Spirits Batch #004 Cask Strength Blend of Straight Rye Whiskeys
This rye blend highlights rye’s earthier side, featuring notes of tobacco, leather, and mole poblano. Its stewed fruit and wilder savory character recall the syrahs of France’s Rhône valley: blackberry and tapenade on the nose followed by flavors of bresaola and black pepper. Appearance: Copper penny with pumpkin highlights. Nose: Blackberry, dried apricot and Concord grape lead off. The grape introduces woodsy tones of blonde tobacco, birch oil and dandelion root. Rye lends its familiar bouquet garni, lemon verbena, and peppermint aromatics. Meanwhile an unhurried maturation has produced cashew, tahini and nocino. Palate: The first impression mirrors the nose but here grape soda is joined by a dark amber maple syrup. Burnt marshmallow leads into rich espresso and black licorice. There’s a deep umami presence of leather, black olive, and grilled onion. The oak here is strong and extractive yielding clove, coconut oil, and pine needle. Finish: A burst of blanche armagnac and rosewater volatiles make way for the piquant heat of mole poblano and black pepper on the tongue. The lingering impression is of juniper, thyme, and wormwood.$79.902 -
Sazerac Kentucky Straight Rye Whiskey
The One and Only New Orleans Original. Sazerac Rye Whiskey symbolizes the tradition and history of New Orleans. Rye Whiskey that dates back to the 1800’s, around the time when saloons, veiled as Coffee Houses, began lining the streets of New Orleans. It was at the Sazerac Coffee House on Royal Street where local patrons were served toddies made with Rye Whiskey and Peychaud’s Bitters. The libation became known as the “Sazerac” and America’s first branded cocktail was born. This is the whiskey that started it all. With its distinctive bottle reminiscent of early settlers and “coffeehouses,” it’s easy to see how the Sazerac Whisky became a staple in the creation of one of America’s oldest cocktails. Aromas of clove, vanilla, anise and pepper. Subtle notes of candies spices and citrus. The big finish is smooth with hints of licorice.$22.9012 -

Whistle Pig 6 Year Old PiggyBack 100% Canadian Rye Whiskey
Top 100 Spirits of 2019 Distillery Notes- In the summer of 2018, the late, legendary Dave Pickerell returned to our barrelhouses with one mission in mind: create the best Rye Whiskey for use in the world’s best cocktails. He knew he wanted a mashbill of 100% rye to capture a full-flavored spice. He just needed to land on the ideal age statement and bottling strength to realize his dream. It didn’t take long for him to arrive at perfection: a rye aged not less than six years, carrying a strength of precisely 96.56 proof. A sturdy thread of cinnamon and citrus binds it all together.
