Made of 100% Chardonnay from the family’s grand cru vineyards in Chouilly, Oiry and Cramant. Disgorged to order, usually spending on average 8 years sur lie. 7-gram dosage. 2017 Cesari Amarone della Valpolicella Classico
Winery Notes- Produced in the boroughs of Negrar, Marano di Valpolicella, Sant'Ambrogio, Fumane, San Pietro in Cariano (the historic area of Valpolicella Classico production). The drying on racks of the Corvina, Rondinella and Negrara grapes until mid January and the ageing in large oak barrels and barriques, together with the long period of rest in bottles, allow us to enjoy this great wine. 2017 Señorio de San Vicente Rioja
Winery Notes- In the early 1980’s, Marcos and Miguel Angel Eguren requested that their father scour the family’s 100 Ha of vineyards in San Vicente de la Sonsierra for the lowest yielding individual vines of Tempranillo. In 1985, the family planted the 18 Ha. La Canoca single vineyard in San Vicente to a massal selection of these low yielding plants. As the vineyard took shape, the vines all shared similar ampelographic characteristics – smaller berries, looser clusters, and a velvety bloom on the subsurface of the leaves. The family was mocked for planting a selection of their “worst vines.” When the first vintage of San Vicente was commercialized almost 10 years later, the family endured more derision when the wine was priced above any Reserva in the appellation. The following year, the wine was released without ageing classification, becoming Rioja’s first single cru ageing declassified wine. For lovers of the Eguren family’s wines, San Vicente tends to elicit a special emotion as one of Rioja's first exhaustive projects to release a premium cuvée that expressed the character of a specific vineyard cru. 2017 Hanzell Estate Sonoma Valley Chardonnay (Was $50)
Winery Notes- Bright notes of lemon zest, citrus blossom and lemon verbena emanate from the glass and open to reveal apricot, green pear and wet granite. Paralleling the aromas, citrus flavors abound on the palate with the addition of lemon oil, grapefruit zest and tangerine. Subtle herbaceous qualities of arugula and thyme show on the long, beautifully textured finish. While absolutely delicious now, we’re certain our 60th vintage will evolve gracefully for decades to come.$29.901 -
2017 Domaine Boutet Saulnier Vouvray Hedoniste (500ml)
The grapes are pressed in a pneumatic press right after being selected and hand-harvested. Fermentation and ageing on lies in Inox tank during 6 months. Tangential filtration before bottling. Perfect as a pre-dinner drink or as a subtle transition between different blue cheeses (Roquefort, Fourme d’Ambert), a surprising and delicious discovery. Vanilla flavoured apple mille-feuille, shortcake with caramelized peaches or the sweet Vouvray matches perfectly with black chocolate. It can also be served alone as an after-dinner drink.$29.909 -
2017 TerraNoble Gran Reserva Cabernet Sauvignon Colchagua Valley
Winery Notes- Of deep ruby-red color, this wine is intense, elegant and very complex on the nose, with accents of fresh red fruits, such as plums and cherries, complemented by spices and notes of herbs.
