2023 Wairau River Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc
Winery Notes- This is the wine judged best Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc at the Marlborough Wine Show. In a region renowned for this distinctive varietal, it is a huge honour to have received the Trophy for Champion Sauvignon Blanc this vintage. Our team have consistently upheld a reputation for excellence since our inaugural 1991 Sauvignon Blanc won the Trophy wine at the New Zealand Wine Awards. It starts in our Estate vineyards, in the region famous for introducing elegant, cool climate New Zealand wines to the world. Marlborough’s warm days and cool nights create an extended growing season allowing the grapes to develop delicious acidity which balances the intense varietal characteristics of ripe grapefruit, white nectarine, and tropical fruits resulting in an elegant, refreshing, crisp flavoursome wine that distinctly says Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc.Rating(s)$12.902 -

2022 Aperture Soil Specific Alexander Valley Sauvignon Blanc
Winery Notes- The 2022 Sauvignon Blanc incorporates our estate-grown sémillion and sauvignon musqué, that we planted on the Aperture property in 2019. These two estate blocks were hand-harvested in early Stepember at the same time as the Sauvignon Blanc from Farrow Ranch in Geyserville. The Sauvignon Blanc from Dry Stack Vineyard in the Bennett Valley AVA was brought to the winery in early October, consistent with this vineyard’s unique late-ripening characteristics. Basing the pressure on the acid measurements, we lightly whole cluster press the fruit to a stainless steel tank where we let the juice chill at 50°F. After three days, we clean-rack it to a smaller tank leaving the heavy sediment behind. Three days later, fermentation starts naturally and keeps below 56°F until 18 brix when we transfer the young wine to barrels. There, it spends the remaining time on lees until just before bottling. Once transferred to barrel, the wine is placed in our cold barrel room to keep fermentation cool and slow to intentionally preserve the bright aromatics and fresh quality. As the wine slowly ferments for an additional 3 weeks in barrel, we top and stir weekly. The wine stays in those same barrels for 6 months.$37.9023 -
2023 Orin Swift Blank Stare Russian River Valley Sauvignon Blanc
Winery Notes- An alluring pale, white gold shimmers in the glass with inviting aromas of white guava, gooseberries, freshly mown grass , kaffir lime and lemongrass. The entry of the 2023 Blank Stare is dominated by mouthwatering acidity and hints of lemon-lime sorbet, starfruit, kiwi and grapefruit rind. A touch of crème fraiche as the palate transitions to a close is met with bright notes of key lime pie and pointed, satiating acidity.$29.9022 -
2022 Cantina Terlano Quarz Sauvignon Blanc Alto Adige Terlano
Winery Notes- This Sauvignon is enticingly exotic in the glass, with multilayered fruit of mango, papaya, lime and red grapefruit, and herbal aromas reminiscent of lemon grass, lemon balm, mint and green tea. It also reveals mineral notes of flint combined with a hint of gooseberry. 2023 Dragonette Happy Canyon of Santa Barbara Sauvignon Blanc
Winery Notes- The great Happy Canyon blend has returned. The 2022 sold out long ago and we have been anxiously awaiting this wine in the Tasting Room and around town at top restaurants. A product of all four Sauvignon Blanc vineyards, this wine shows the true excellence of the Happy Canyon appellation; beautiful ripeness and dramatic fruit flavors held aloft by fabulous acidity and minerality and only a hint of the herbaceousness for which Sauvignon Blanc is (in)famous. As always, top notch, per acre farming is the key here, as we prune and shoot thin for drastically lower yields than in the case of the conventional SB farming protocols. Concentration is dramatically more intense with this style of farming. For the Happy Canyon, we then choose lots that have a more energetic, taut, and lively character, along with the depth and concentration that these fabulous vineyards provide. The wine ages for a total of 7 months on the lees, before it is blended, cold stabilized with a light fining (plant and soil-based fining agents) and gently cross-flow filtered before bottling. The wine pairs with a tremendous variety of foods with weight and interest lifted by great structure and acidity. The 2023 version of the Happy Canyon Sauvignon Blanc is 40% Grassini, 37% Vogelzang, 18% Grimm’s Bluff and 5% Two Wolves. The wine was aged in 72% neutral oak barrels and 28% stainless steel, with 85% Clone 1 and 15% musque. The wine is delicious out of the gate showing mixed tropical fruits, crisp citrus-laced acidity, minerals and a touch of fresh herbs.$33.9021 -

2023 Dog Point Sauvignon Blanc Marlborough
Winery Notes- Our version of the classic dry aromatic style of Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc. The citrus core of flavours are juicy and intense with deliciously refreshing saline acidity. The wine calls for simple fresh seafood but can also be enjoyed as a pre-dinner aperitif. Grapes are picked from eight of our own vineyards within the Wairau Valley. Cropped at an average of 10 tonnes/hectare. The fruit is whole bunch pressed, cold settled before fermentation and 4 months aging in stainless steel tanks. A portion of this wine is fermented using indigenous yeast. Bottled without fining.$19.9024+ -
2023 Massican Napa Valley Sauvignon Blanc
Winery Notes- Inspired by the Sauvignon wines of northern Italy, our Sauvignon Blanc pays homage to the tart and delicious everyday wine workhorse of the region of Friuli. While it is difficult to recreate these specific Italian wines anywhere else in the world, Sauvignon is our California interpretation of these great Italian white wines. The grapes for this wine are farmed at distinct vineyards in Napa and Sonoma where the temperatures are both the warmest during the day and the coolest at night. That diversity helps us produce a wine of intensity and freshness, and as such we tip-our-Sauvignon-hat to our fellow winemakers in northeast Italy.$23.9010 -
2023 Cloudy Bay Sauvignon Blanc Marlborough
Winery Notes- The 2023 Sauvignon Blanc has an enticing nose, with appealing aromas of ripe honeydew melon, passionfruit, vibrant citrus and a subtle touch of fresh blackcurrant leaf. The palate is concentrated and elegant, with hints of fresh sea air balancing out the warmth of the ripe fruit notes at the wine’s core. Subtle tropical fruit characters are underpinned by freshening notes of makrut lime, lemongrass, Meyer lemon and a touch of grapefruit skin.Rating(s)$26.9024+ -
2022 Bedrock Wine Co. Sonoma Valley Sauvignon Blanc
Winery Notes- Having a few more vintages of experience under our belts with the two small blocks of Sauvignon Blanc at Bedrock Vineyard, we are starting to see some subtle differences created by the gentle contours and soil shifts. Though planted next to each other, using the same Musqué clone on the same Los Robles Cobbly Loam soil, we have started to see an interesting, and happily complimentary, difference arise between the two. Block 2, which has a bit more rock and a subtle rise on its north end, tends to be quite aromatically detailed, more structured, and very delineated in mouthfeel. Block 3, which is less rocky and has more clay-loam, tends to have more vigorous vines that lead to wines that are more generous in body and richness (and perhaps a trace more obvious). For the Bedrock Vineyard Sauvignon Blanc, we decided to build the wine around the tactile Block 2 and blend in a little bit of Block 3 for some weight and fruit. Both lots were barrel fermented in a range of barrel sizes, and this wine has a bit of new oak from our favorite coopers.Rating(s)$26.906
