2021 Antinori Villa Antinori Toscana Rosso
#5 Wine Spectator Value Wines 2024 Winery Notes- The 2021 growing season began with rainy conditions during the winter months that provided excellent groundwater reserves in the vineyards. Budbreak took place towards the end of March, slightly later than 2020. The second half of April brought overall low temperatures that slowed down the vines’ vegetative growth and flowering, which occurred in the last half of May and was approximately 10 days later than last year. The end of spring and the summer months saw hot dry weather that allowed the vines to catch up to a normal pace and begin an optimal ripening phase. Ideal temperature swings between day and night, from mid-August up until harvesting, encouraged the development of an intriguing aromatic profile and ensured mature, perfectly healthy, and well-balanced fruit. The timing of the grape harvest was similar to 2020, picking began the second week of September with Merlot, continued with Syrah and Petit Verdot, and was completed with Sangiovese and Cabernet by mid-October.Rating(s)$17.9012 -

2022 Le Chiuse Rosso di Montalcino
Winery Notes- For many it is the little brother of Brunello di Montalcino, but for us Rosso di Montalcino is a wine of distinct personality. Coming out in the second year after the harvest, it is the youngest of our wines, meaning that it is also the wine that best expresses the varietal character of Sangiovese in its juiciness and freshness. Unlike Brunello, it’s essential that the Rosso shows greater balance and smoothness from the start, which is why we tend to use larger grape bunches in order to achieve lower tannic concentration in a shorter period of maturation. Yet we guarantee the same quality level as Brunello in a wine coming from the same vineyards where yields are less than 50 quintals per hectare After aging for about a year in large Slavonian oak barrels, the wine is bottled and put on the market. In our lives it is an important wine because it is the bottle we uncork every day, not only for its agility and ease of drinking but also and above all for its great versatility in pairing with food, able to bring joy and harmony to every meal.$39.9012 -

2019 Fossacolle Brunello di Montalcino
Winery Notes- Our Brunello di Montalcino is produced with Sangiovese Grosso grapes, rigorously selected for quality and hand-picked into small boxes. Following a gentle pressing, the must undergoes a pre-fermentation at low temperatures in steel and concrete fermenters. The alcoholic fermentation takes place rigorously under temperature controlled conditions with an extended maceration and frequent pump-overs, punch-downs and delestages to optimize the extraction from the skins. The malolactic fermentation is completed in concrete vats before an ageing phase of at least 24 months in wood. Subsequently the wine matures for another year in glass-lined cement vats. A mere static settling, but no filtration, complete the wine making process before its final bottling and at least 4 months later release into the market.Rating(s)$69.9011 -
