2019 Fossacolle Brunello di Montalcino
Winery Notes- Our Brunello di Montalcino is produced with Sangiovese Grosso grapes, rigorously selected for quality and hand-picked into small boxes. Following a gentle pressing, the must undergoes a pre-fermentation at low temperatures in steel and concrete fermenters. The alcoholic fermentation takes place rigorously under temperature controlled conditions with an extended maceration and frequent pump-overs, punch-downs and delestages to optimize the extraction from the skins. The malolactic fermentation is completed in concrete vats before an ageing phase of at least 24 months in wood. Subsequently the wine matures for another year in glass-lined cement vats. A mere static settling, but no filtration, complete the wine making process before its final bottling and at least 4 months later release into the market.Rating(s)$69.9011 -

2019 Castello di Romitorio Brunello di Montalcino
#28 Wine Spectator Top 100 of 2024 Winery Notes- The Castello Romitorio Brunello di Montalcino is our flagship wine and reflects more than 30 years of working in harmony with nature in Montalcino. The estate has new and old vineyards of Sangiovese at high altitudes in the northwest of Montalcino. The Sangiovese grapes are carefully selected before and after destemming. Fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks with an initial short period of cold maceration followed by maceration at a higher controlled temperature. Malolactic fermentation is naturally caused, so the wine is rested to separate the lees. The wine matures in oak for a minimum of 24 months, and, after bottling, it is aged in Castello Romitorio’s temperaturecontrolled cellars for a minimum of 4 months before release.

2019 Voliero Brunello di Montalcino
In 2006, Andrea Cortonesi put a lot of miles on his car. Already the founder, proprietor, vigneron and winemaker for the Uccelliera estate, he was also running his own restaurant in Siena called Il Casato. It was in his capacity as restaurateur that the Voliero label was born: in researching all of the best possible local products for the menu, a friend of his in Montalcino offered him grapes from his vineyard in the Canalicchio cru in northern Montalcino to make a wine just for the restaurant. There was never enough Uccelliera wines to go around, so he accepted the idea to produce a second label.$64.9012 -
