2019 Casa Castillo Las Gravas Jumilla
Not surprisingly, Las Gravas comes from a profoundly rocky, single vineyard of the same name. You’d also be hard-pressed to call it soil since before you can get to anything resembling dirt, you have to go through a foot of stones. Here Jose Maria and his father planted Monastrell, and Garnacha, each of which contributes to the final blend of Las Gravas. While the other cuvées from the estate show the unique expression of site and variety, Las Gravas is a broader lesson in terroir and the varieties that thrive here. Las Gravas is harvested by hand and fermented in underground stone tanks with manual pigeage. Once primary fermentation is complete, the wine is aged in 5000L foudres and 500L French oak demi-muids for 16 months. In most vintages, only 20% of the barrels are new.Rating(s)$39.9024 -
2022 Tenuta San Guido Guidalberto Toscana
Winery Notes- After more than 20 years of analysis and experimentation Guidalberto, a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, is now a wine with a clear and temperament, a good interpretation of the territory. It embraces a younger style that seeks fragrance and sweetness on the palate, characteristics that Merlot can offer even with a relatively short ageing period.$59.9024+ -
2022 Brewer-Clifton Sta. Rita Hills Pinot Noir
Winery Notes- This bottling is comprised of Pinot Noir from four vineyards within the Sta. Rita Hills AVA. 3D, Machado, Hapgood, and Perilune vineyards all contribute to the wine which exhibits a drive, richness and pedigree expressive of our special growing area coupled with the purity of fruit and firm structure which have been the trademark of Brewer-Clifton. 3D - The primary emphasis of the predominantly sandy 10 acre vineyard is chardonnay, with five clones planted. In addition to chardonnay, there is a smaller field of pinot noir planted to Swan, Pommard and 667 clones. MACHADO - 15 acre parcel on the Machado family land is located adjacent to Clos Pepe and immediately behind the Kessler-Haak vineyard. The site is marked by a gorgeous rolling terrain with sandy clay loam soils. HAPGOOD - In slightly richer soil, the vineyard is planted to the Mount Eden selection of chardonnay. The elevated clay loam content results in larger volume and a more dense palate expression. Our most recent installation, planted in 2010, is this small 2 1/2 acre section of pinot noir planted to Merry Edwards clone. CRAFT Only neutral barrels are employed. We strive for whole cluster fermentation. We farm with a focus of ripening the stems alongside the fruit, allowing the cluster to be in harmony. Working with the stems allows for wines that are structured, earthy and balanced with our beautiful Sta. Rita Hills fruit. CELLARING All of the wines are produced with the intention of aging and cellaring for at least 10 years and can easily be enjoyed after 15 years.$38.9012 -

2019 O'Shaughnessy Howell Mountain Cabernet Sauvignon
Winery Notes- Our estate vineyard resides on a one hundred and twenty acre hillside property that is now reaching full maturity at twenty years of age. Beginning in 1997 we planted twenty nine acres of Cabernet Sauvignon and six acres of the seven historic blending varietals, Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot, Merlot, Malbec, Carmenere, St. Macaire and Gros Verdot. The vines span three distinct vineyards. The Amphitheater Vineyard derives its name from its shape across the hillside and the Rancho Del Oso Vineyard its name from a resident black bear who visits from time to time. Newest to us is our Osprey's Nest Vineyard which we share with a young family of Osprey.$99.902 -

2023 Ramatuella Tibouren Côtes de Provence Rosé
Winery Notes- Tibouren has traditionally been used in Ramatuelle as an assemblage grape, often in combination with Grenache, Cinsault, Carignan and Syrah. It gives a dry and clear rosé with slightly orange hues, an earthy and spicy character with typical notes of pine and garrigue. Finesse, spirit, delicacy and bouquet intensity are the distinguishing qualities of Ramatuelle’s pink Tibouren.$16.9011 -
2022 Brewer-Clifton Machado Sta. Rita Hills Pinot Noir
Winery Notes- Looking to secure a mirror-image sister ranch to our 3D Vineyard, we began working with the Machado family in the winter of 2008. Our 15 acre parcel on their land is located adjacent to Clos Pepe and immediately behind the Kessler-Haak Vineyard. The site is marked by a gorgeous rolling terrain with sandy loam soils. At Machado, the majority of the planting is dedicated to pinot noir with equal amounts of such selections as Pommard, Merry Edwards, Mount Eden, and 459. In addition to pinot noir, we also planted a small, two-acre plot in the sandiest portion of the field to the Sweeney Canyon selection of chardonnay.Rating(s)$84.9024+ -

2023 Dragonette Happy Canyon of Santa Barbara Sauvignon Blanc
Winery Notes- The great Happy Canyon blend has returned. The 2022 sold out long ago and we have been anxiously awaiting this wine in the Tasting Room and around town at top restaurants. A product of all four Sauvignon Blanc vineyards, this wine shows the true excellence of the Happy Canyon appellation; beautiful ripeness and dramatic fruit flavors held aloft by fabulous acidity and minerality and only a hint of the herbaceousness for which Sauvignon Blanc is (in)famous. As always, top notch, per acre farming is the key here, as we prune and shoot thin for drastically lower yields than in the case of the conventional SB farming protocols. Concentration is dramatically more intense with this style of farming. For the Happy Canyon, we then choose lots that have a more energetic, taut, and lively character, along with the depth and concentration that these fabulous vineyards provide. The wine ages for a total of 7 months on the lees, before it is blended, cold stabilized with a light fining (plant and soil-based fining agents) and gently cross-flow filtered before bottling. The wine pairs with a tremendous variety of foods with weight and interest lifted by great structure and acidity. The 2023 version of the Happy Canyon Sauvignon Blanc is 40% Grassini, 37% Vogelzang, 18% Grimm’s Bluff and 5% Two Wolves. The wine was aged in 72% neutral oak barrels and 28% stainless steel, with 85% Clone 1 and 15% musque. The wine is delicious out of the gate showing mixed tropical fruits, crisp citrus-laced acidity, minerals and a touch of fresh herbs.$33.9024+ -
2023 Turnbull North Coast Sauvignon Blanc
Winery Notes- Meyer lemons, guava, juicy yellow pineapple, and Kaffir limes captivate the nose. The soft entry on the palate gives way to bursting flavor and perfectly balanced, crisp acidity. Delicate white stone fruit blossoms and mineral undertones add depth and complexity through the delightfully refreshing and quenching finish.$24.9021 -
2023 Clos Alivu Patrimonio Rosé
Eric Poli directs Domaine de Piana, the family’s 75-acre estate between Linguizzetta and Bravone on Corsica’s East Coast. In 2005, Eric purchased 7.4 acres (3 hectares) of old-vine Niellucciu and Vermentino (aka Malvoisie de Corse) on the terraced Poggio d’Oletta in the heart of Patrimonio The region’s warm sun and favorable winds allow for environmentally friendly agricultural practices with limited use of herbicides and pesticides, ensuring that the grapes ripen perfectly for the harvest. Only grape varieties native to Corsica are grown: Vermentino for white wines and Niellucciu for reds and rosés. Protected by the maritime influences of the Golf de Saint-Florent, vines cultivated on the Petra Bianca soils of Patrimonio’s hillsides rarely require treatments of any kind, so Eric’s practices are essentially organic (though without certification). This Corsican Rose has a light salmon-pink color and exhibits a gorgeous perfume with floral and cherry nuances. Lovely fruit with a floral and citrus tinge is backed by a nice, crisp finish. It is a perfect accompaniment to just about any Mediterranean inspired dish.$24.9023 -

2022 Jomain Frères Meursault Les Tillets

2021 Tyler Estate Sta. Rita Hills Pinot Noir
Winery Notes- For seventeen vintages, we have closely engaged with the foundational vineyards of this singular and nuanced region. In 2021, we acquired Fiddlestix Vineyard, first planted in 1998, immediately adjacent to Sanford & Benedict in the southern corridor of our appellation. In concert with Mae Estate to the north, these holdings privilege us to tell a comprehensive story of the Sta. Rita’s diverse terroir. And it begins in the vineyard. This moment is the culmination of nearly two decades of learning from the valley’s vineyards. Now, with total control of our farming, we can insure that Mae and Fiddlestix are ushered into the future with respect for our landscape and with the promise of longevity. In these new wines, we have married selections from Mae and Fiddlestix to share with you the complexity of the Sta. Rita as only we can.Rating(s)$49.9018 -
2019 Jonata Todos Ballard Canyon Red Blend
Winery Notes- Incense and Nag Champa fragrance. Bidis. Clove and cigar and black and red licorice. Dark and brooding with sweet blackberries, blueberries, cinnamon and baking spice. Black figs. Cracked white pepper. Like 2013 Todos in its power and breadth. Salty and tight today. Spicy and dark. Lovely depth of fruit. Tannins that start to build on the 3/4 pallet and slowly coat the entire mouth. Bundle of fruit wrapped in a formidable package of complex structure. Will reward those who decant and those who give it a few years in the cellar. One of my favorite Todos to date, no doubt.$49.904
