2022 Benovia Russian River Valley Pinot Noir (Was $55)
Winery Notes- The 2022 vintage provided the raw materials to produce a Russian River Valley Pinot Noir with vibrant fruit and exotic spice aromas and layered texture. Aromas are dominated by red fruit tones of Queen Anne Cherry and Pomegranate, while black fruits dominate on the palate. The vibrant aromas expand and give way to red plum, black cherry, and complex baking spices. On the palate the wine has integrated acidi ty and fine tannins that should allow for mid-term cellaring. As always, the wine was bottled without fining or filtration.$29.909 -

Jenny Wagner, the youngest offspring of Chuck Wagner, renowned for Caymus wines, serves as the winemaker at Emmolo Winery, a namesake tribute to her mother, Cheryl Emmolo. The Emmolo family boasts a rich legacy deeply rooted in Napa Valley. In 1923, great-grandfather Salvatore Emmolo initiated a grape rootstock nursery, a tradition continued by his son Frank. Under Frank's stewardship, the family property saw the cultivation of Sauvignon Blanc and Merlot, marking a significant chapter in the Emmolo family's enduring connection with the Napa Valley. Nose: Cocktail cherries and sweet spice, with notes of savory bread, newly oiled leather and pronounced French oak. Palate: Smooth upon entry, with a richness that builds. Flavors of cherry, spice and savory bread carry over from the nose, with lush plums and a hint of jerky. Dusty, powdery tannins lend softness. 2022 Domaine Dujac Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru Aux Combottes
Winery Notes- Les Combottes, a locality south of the village of Gevrey-Chambertin, lies halfway up the hill, just below the steep incline of Les Monts Luisants, in a steeply sloping area (5–6%). Ranging in altitude from 271 to 282 meters, this lieu-dit faces due east. The soil changes from east to west. In the eastern part of the plot, the reddish-brown soil is 40 to 50 cm thick, containing angular-to-rounded limestone fragments. In the western part of the lieu-dit, the soil is rich in fine angular limestone gravel. The underlying substratum Les Combottes is ocher-colored crinoidal limestone (limestone in Entroques), rich in debris from marine organisms. To the west, this layer is overlain by bedded limestone scree (grèzes litées), covering the upper part of the slope. This Comblanchien limestone scree is composed of fine angular gravel.$379.901
