2023 Domaine Dujac Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru Aux Combottes
Winery Notes- Les Combottes, a locality south of the village of Gevrey-Chambertin, lies halfway up the hill, just below the steep incline of Les Monts Luisants, in a steeply sloping area (5–6%). Ranging in altitude from 271 to 282 meters, this lieu-dit faces due east. The soil changes from east to west. In the eastern part of the plot, the reddish-brown soil is 40 to 50 cm thick, containing angular-to-rounded limestone fragments. In the western part of the lieu-dit, the soil is rich in fine angular limestone gravel. The underlying substratum Les Combottes is ocher-colored crinoidal limestone (limestone in Entroques), rich in debris from marine organisms. To the west, this layer is overlain by bedded limestone scree (grèzes litées), covering the upper part of the slope. This Comblanchien limestone scree is composed of fine angular gravel..$389.905 -

Winery Notes- A vintage of patience paid off with this complex blend of entirely estate-farmed vineyards, as well as introducing a new planting. The 2023 Lucia by Pisoni Pinot Noir, Estate Cuvée is a blend of 41% Pisoni Vineyards, 32% Garys’ Vineyard, 15% Soberanes Vineyard and 12% WindRock Vineyard. Our most recent estate vineyard introduces another expression of intense farming and fruit expression, planted to the north of Garys’ Vineyard. The slow and late harvest brought a classic profile to the Pinot Noirs—bright, pure and balanced. Deep color and exuberant aromas of red raspberries, dark cherries, ground clove, and vanilla emit from the glass. Soft and layered tannins are woven together with notes of fresh red plum and allspice. The extended growing season is evident on the palate as well, with a long finish that extends the depth of flavor.$49.9021 -

2023 Brewer-Clifton Sta. Rita Hills Pinot Noir
Winery Notes- This bottling is comprised of Pinot Noir from four vineyards within the Sta. Rita Hills AVA. 3D, Machado, Hapgood, and Perilune vineyards all contribute to the wine which exhibits a drive, richness and pedigree expressive of our special growing area coupled with the purity of fruit and firm structure which have been the trademark of Brewer-Clifton. 3D - The primary emphasis of the predominantly sandy 10 acre vineyard is chardonnay, with five clones planted. In addition to chardonnay, there is a smaller field of pinot noir planted to Swan, Pommard and 667 clones. MACHADO - 15 acre parcel on the Machado family land is located adjacent to Clos Pepe and immediately behind the Kessler-Haak vineyard. The site is marked by a gorgeous rolling terrain with sandy clay loam soils. HAPGOOD - In slightly richer soil, the vineyard is planted to the Mount Eden selection of chardonnay. The elevated clay loam content results in larger volume and a more dense palate expression. Our most recent installation, planted in 2010, is this small 2 1/2 acre section of pinot noir planted to Merry Edwards clone. CRAFT Only neutral barrels are employed. We strive for whole cluster fermentation. We farm with a focus of ripening the stems alongside the fruit, allowing the cluster to be in harmony. Working with the stems allows for wines that are structured, earthy and balanced with our beautiful Sta. Rita Hills fruit. CELLARING All of the wines are produced with the intention of aging and cellaring for at least 10 years and can easily be enjoyed after 15 years.$38.906 -

Winery Notes- Fellom Ranch is located on the top of the Montebello Ridge outside of Saratoga, California, between 2000-2400 feet. The vineyard overlooks the San Francisco Peninsula and Bay and the legendary Ridge Montebello Vineyard, with which it shares a border. 100% Cabernet Sauvignon. Fermented lightly crushed with native yeasts and a three-week maceration. Aged in a new Stockinger puncheon and a neutral barrel.$54.907 -
2021 Hitching Post Highliner Sideways 20 Year Anniversary Santa Barbara County Pinot Noir
Winery Notes- We selected our flagship wine for this commemorative bottling. “Highliner” is an assemblage of only the best lots of all the different Pinot Noirs we make each vintage. Consequently, it earns consistent high praise. The fruit for 2021 Highliner came from 5 different vineyards with the majority sourced from the iconic Sanford & Benedict Vineyard in the Sta. Rita Hills appellation. All vineyards and clones are harvested and produced separately using traditional burgundian techniques. 20 months barrel age in French oak along with masterful blending, brought all the elements to a harmonious whole. "We enjoy making Highliner the most of any of our wines,” states Frank Ostini. “Utilizing the different flavors and textures from all of these vineyards creates a complex and balanced wine that plays to the many keys of Pinot Noir. The 2021 vintage is the best vintage of the 2000s to date.” The moniker “Highliner” refers to the best fishermen in the fleet and references Gray Hartley’s nearly 30 years in the fishing industry prior to winemaking. Winery Notes- The 2021 “Hometown” is a pretty, lavish wine graced with bright raspberry and ripe red cherry fruit, a gentle spiciness, an obvious earthiness, and wonderful acidity that makes for a lively palate impression in a medium bodied style. It is drinking beautifully now and will age nicely over the next 5 years. Vineyard sites are Kick-On Ranch, Rio Vista and Quinta del Mar Vineyards, bringing together bouncy acidity and riper berry qualities. Aged 11 months in older French oak barrels.$19.901 -
2023 Ojai Clima Frío Santa Barbara County Pinot Noir
Winery Notes- This 2023 Pinot Noir is the first of our new Clima Frío series, and we’re elated by what a dramatic and aromatic debut this is. This bottling cobbles together fruit grown in the Santa Maria Valley and just outside the Sta. Rita Hills. The wine is packed with earthy nuance while sporting lots of juicy, spicy fruit. It pulls you in with its wild aroma, which has pretty notes of dried rose, spice box, orange peel, and black tea. Then you’ll find it’s a just a joy to drink—juicy with ripe berries and cherry, refreshingly mineral, and there’s a fine spicy astringency that builds in the mid-palate onward. There’s lots of substance here, but it’s also a wine that’s very easy to enjoy a second glass.$39.9012
