2022 Rutherford Hill Napa Valley Merlot

Rutherford Hill Merlot benefits from three decades of Napa Valley history with this perennial favorite, offering an elegant and refined interpretation of the classic Bordeaux varietal. Estate vineyards that we purchased and developed in the 90's provided over 70% of the grapes in this wine. The Merlot lots were woven together with Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot and Syrah with superb results.$29.9016 -
2022 Emmolo (Caymus) Napa Valley Merlot (Elsewhere $55)
Jenny Wagner, the youngest offspring of Chuck Wagner, renowned for Caymus wines, serves as the winemaker at Emmolo Winery, a namesake tribute to her mother, Cheryl Emmolo. The Emmolo family boasts a rich legacy deeply rooted in Napa Valley. In 1923, great-grandfather Salvatore Emmolo initiated a grape rootstock nursery, a tradition continued by his son Frank. Under Frank's stewardship, the family property saw the cultivation of Sauvignon Blanc and Merlot, marking a significant chapter in the Emmolo family's enduring connection with the Napa Valley. Nose: Cocktail cherries and sweet spice, with notes of savory bread, newly oiled leather and pronounced French oak. Palate: Smooth upon entry, with a richness that builds. Flavors of cherry, spice and savory bread carry over from the nose, with lush plums and a hint of jerky. Dusty, powdery tannins lend softness. 2022 Domaine Michel Gros Vosne-Romanée

The wines are both ample and rich, with lovely balance of acidity, silky tannins and explosive fruit. 2022 Thacher Working Holiday Paso Robles Rhône Blend
The “KR” on our barn is a well-known landmark of old-time Paso Robles. The Kentucky Ranch- our home, winery, vineyard, and gardens were part of a 4,000-acre Spanish Land Grant until 1869, after which it became a thriving horse breeding operation. Our ranch includes the 1920s KR barn, outbuildings, our home, barley fields, and riparian habitat for deer, coyotes, bobcats, turkeys, and the occasional mountain lion. Since 2004, Thacher Winery, with the grasshopper label, has been hand-crafting wines grown in superb Central Coast vineyards. Our small lot production demonstrates local subtleties and terroir. Construction of the tasting room and 4,600 square foot, solar powered winery was completed in 2008, just in time for our fourth harvest of about 33 tons of premium wine grapes. Today total production is approximately 5,000 cases of low-intervention and all native ferments that are created in the vineyard. Our mission is to grow unique, and food-friendly wines that purely express the terroirs of the exceptional vineyards we farm throughout the Central Coast.$24.9019 -

2020 Saxum G2 Willow Creek District Rhône Blend
Winery Notes- This vineyard keeps getting stronger and stronger as the vines mature and we get a handle on taming this rugged, mountainous fruit. It’s definitely more black fruit focused than the JBV, and a little more dense and chewy, not quite as savory, but it still has a nice loamy earth side to it. I think it’s a show stopper. The tannins are remarkable but will definitely benefit from a few years of aging (as will all of our wines). A real banger.$194.902
