2021 Justin Isosceles Paso Robles Bordeaux Blend
Winery Notes- Bright with a dark purple/black core lightening to ruby/purple at the rim, with slowly forming, moderately stained tears on the glass. Complex and attractively aromatic, showing very ripe cherry and black currant fruit followed by savory notes of cedar, pipe tobacco, vanilla bean, baking spice, and warm oak. Full-bodied on the palate with ripe notes of crème de cassis and black cherry jam, with hints of red berry fruit on entry and vanilla, licorice, and baking spice leading into the midpalate, which shows complex savory notes of cedar, tobacco leaf, and leather. The lengthy and continually changing finish progresses from ripe black cherry fruit flavors accented by baking spice and oak notes to ripe chewy tannins and balancing acidity that adds depth and freshness.Rating(s)$59.907 -
2021 Vina Robles Paso Robles Petite Sirah
Winery Notes- Petite Sirah is a classic variety grown in California for more than a century, and is well suited to the limiting soils found in our estate vineyards in Paso Robles. The fruit for our 2021 Petite Sirah was picked at tasted ripeness and sorted in the early morning to ensure quality and integrity of the berries. The fruit was then crushed at our state-of-the-art winery into temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks with tailored pumpovers determined each day during fermentation to extract essential color and flavors from the skins while also balancing tannins for overall mouthfeel. After pressing, the wine was racked into barrels to complete malolactic fermentation and aging. The wine was aged a total of 20 months in French, Hungarian and American oak barrels from selected cooperages and stored in climate-controlled rooms for added mouthfeel and complexity. Upon the first 8 months of aging, extensive blending trials were conducted before the final lots were selected and blended for overall synergies - structure and minerality from Creston Valley, along with silkiness and expressive fruit from Jardine. The blend was then aged for an additional 12 months in barrels to fully integrate before bottling. The result is a wine displaying complexity, structure, richness and balance. Full-bodied with juicy dark fruits, dark chocolate, mouth filling with a palate coating creamy finish.$23.906 -
2021 Haut-Mayne Sauternes (375ml Half Bottle)
The grapes are picked during 3 or 4 passes through the vineyards, with a further sorting just before pressing. After being completely destemmed, they are placed in a hand-operated basket press, where the juice then runs into cement tanks or barrels. The maceration is relatively long, and all the wine is ultimately aged in barrel, of which 25% is new each year, for around 18 months. The final blend is normally 85% Sémillon and 15% Sauvignon Blanc. The wine has lovely notes of dried apricot and honey, buttressed by lovely underlying acidity. To be enjoyed as a holiday treat (or any time) with a cheese course, foie gras, or desserts like pumpkin pie or crème brûlée.$21.907 -

2022 Haarmeyer Wirz Vineyard Cienaga Valley Riesling Orange
Winery Notes- The Wirz vineyard was planted by Almaden in 1963, back when big wineries were still planting vines on their own roots and furrow irrigation. Miraculously, the vineyard remains intact, thanks to work of the Wirz family. They were hired by Almaden to farm it because they lived on the property. Almaden eventually sold the vineyard to Pat Wirz’s father and Pat is the man who has been in charge for the past 45 years, farming it as his father once did with strict practices that honor the old tradition of caring for the land as well as the vines. The site is just east of the San Andreas Fault. This piece of land has a limestone base with decomposed granite overlaying. Although it sits at about 1,000 feet above sea level and gets some marine air, the days are frequently quite warm. The vines are head-trained, tiny bush vines spaced ten feet apart and the clusters range in size from golf ball to baseball. The yield is typically about one ton per acre.$26.905
