2020 Rouget, Pomerol
Winery Notes- Despite a winter with cumulated rainfall largely above average value (650mm in 2020 vs. 430mm in average), the budburst started quite early in the end of March. During the first half of April, the summer-like temperatures, between 22 and 26 degrees Celsius, kicked off the growth of the vine. In mid-May, most of the plots were at the flowering stage. The clay soils of the right bank, gorged with water during winter and spring, allowed the vine to endure the summer heat wave. The harvests started very early, on September 15th, 2020 and ended a fortnight later. The wines are smooth and fruity, and have a beautiful concentration, with tension and a lot of freshness. 2020 presents itself as an attractive, charming and accessible vintage, combining the roundness of 2018, and the fresh and velvety tannins of 2019.$59.904 -

2020 Ramey Woolsey Road Vineyard Russian River Valley Chardonnay (Was $80)
Winery Notes- The pinnacle of everything we’ve learned and accomplished, the Martinelli Family planted Woolsey Road to our exacting specifications. The resulting Chardonnay is laser focused. Owned by the Martinelli family, the vineyard was planted specifically for us at their invitation. We were able to provide them with Old Wente cuttings from Hyde Vineyard. Woolsey Road benefits from two greats in the Chardonnay world: it originates from the Hyde family’s cuttings of Old Wente and is farmed by the third and fourth generations of the Martinelli family. Pictured is Lee Martinelli Sr. tending vines with the fifth generation. We press whole grape clusters for phenolic delicacy. Native yeast and full native malolactic fermentation take place in barrel, with sur lies bâtonnage. After aging 20 months in 20% new François Frères and Taransaud Beaune French oak barrels, the Chardonnay was traditionally fined for clarity and texture and bottled without filtration.$64.904 -
2020 Ramey Rochioli Vineyard Russian River Valley Chardonnay (Was $80)
Winery Notes- Few wineries have the privilege of making a Rochioli Vineyard wine. Virtually all are turned down. Mutual respect and a legacy of quality built our families’ partnership. The Rochioli family has grown grapes on their property since the late ‘50s. The vineyard is now farmed by the third generation. Our 2020 Rochioli blend is 82% Mid-40 block and 18% River block. Winery Notes- The 2018 Estate Blend is a graceful, awe-inspiring expression of our red varieties at Epoch grown across all three of our vineyard sites – Paderewski, Catapult, and York – in the even-keeled, dreamy 2018 vintage. Brimming with concentrated dark plum and black cherry, savory roasted herbs and meats, earthy forest floor, lavender, chocolate, and vanilla, this wine is generous and harmonious in youth, but it is sure to age beautifully thanks to its balance of flavor and texture on the palate entry to finish
