2023 Hyde de Villaine (HDV) Hyde Vineyard Napa Valley Chardonnay
Winery Notes- After three of the most challenging seasons in recent years, with consecutive extreme drought conditions and heat events, 2023 came as a redemption year. The year started with a wet and cold Winter. Spring and early Summer remained cool and overcast, with only a handful of warmer days. Consequently, Harvest was delayed by almost 6 weeks compared to a 10-year average. The waiting was nerve-racking, as early rains and cool Falls are not uncommon in Napa. Moderate weather continued through September and early October, allowing for extended hang time. The crop was balanced and generous, resulting in wines of refined purity and detailed precision.$84.901 -
2023 Pahlmeyer Napa Valley Chardonnay
Winery Notes- The 2023 Pahlmeyer Chardonnay is a bright, fresh expression of our mountain fruit, offering remarkable precision and depth. Aromatically, it is highly expressive, with notes of honeysuckle, orange blossom, and preserved lemon, deepening into a core of tangerine and apricot. A touch of toasted almond and a subtle flinty note add further complexity. On the palate, this Chardonnay balances intensity with elegance — finely detailed and in perfect focus. 2023 Walter Hansel The Meadows Russian River Valley Chardonnay
Winery Notes- This is a new vineyard designated offering from 100% Hanzell Selection grown in a low land Meadow contiguous to the Santa Rosa Creek. It is dry farmed each year and requires extensive shoot and crop thinning each year due to the extreme fertile conditions. 2023 Napa Cellars Napa Valley Chardonnay
Winery Notes- A balanced and memorable Chardonnay that starts with aromas of orange blossom, Asian pear, crème fraiche, peaches and chamomile, complemented by notes of toffee, honeysuckle, and graham cracker. On the palate, flavors of green apple, Meyer lemon and stonefruit are finished with notes of tangerine and vanilla. This Chardonnay is smooth, creamy and balanced with a lingering acidity and a long finish. 2022 Artesa Los Carneros Napa Valley Chardonnay
Winery Notes- Artesa's Estate Vineyard Chardonnay from Los Carneros, Napa Valley, is an elegantly restrained wine with Meyer lemon and white blossom aromas, a hint of lemongrass, and a silky, balanced oak touch. 2022 Chateau Montelena Napa Valley Chardonnay
Winery Notes- There’s tremendous purity on the nose of this wine. At the same time, it’s also quite intense. Peach, apricot and kiwi drive an abundance of ripeness, which cascades into fresh cut flowers, orange blossom and cantaloupe. The citrus really comes to life here as mandarin, Meyer lemon and finally lemon verbena. While green apple, which is typically quite pronounced in Montelena wines, is somewhat overshadowed by the opulence of other flavors, I would expect it to become more prominent over time. Moreover, the texture is still angular and somewhat tight, which isn’t surprising given the wine’s youth. However, there’s certainly plenty to look forward to with notes of graham cracker, cinnamon and toast lingering beneath the surface. The finish initially leans into d’Anjou pear with some additional baking spice. It slowly transitions back to apple but more as cider than fresh cut. The citrus also persists as lemon zest and there’s a touch of peppery ginger as punctuation. While still predominantly linear, the finish should develop in breadth and gravity in coming years.$64.905 -
2023 Mayacamas Mount Veeder Chardonnay
Winery Notes- The 2023 Chardonnay is a textural driven experience and a multi-layered wine with aromatics of white and yellow flowers. Tones of Anjou pear, Golden Delicious apple, and candied lemon peel engage the front of the palate. The mid-palate exhibits structure and depth with nuances of chamomile, yuzu citrus, and lemon-grass. 2021 Haut-Mayne Sauternes (375ml Half Bottle)
The grapes are picked during 3 or 4 passes through the vineyards, with a further sorting just before pressing. After being completely destemmed, they are placed in a hand-operated basket press, where the juice then runs into cement tanks or barrels. The maceration is relatively long, and all the wine is ultimately aged in barrel, of which 25% is new each year, for around 18 months. The final blend is normally 85% Sémillon and 15% Sauvignon Blanc. The wine has lovely notes of dried apricot and honey, buttressed by lovely underlying acidity. To be enjoyed as a holiday treat (or any time) with a cheese course, foie gras, or desserts like pumpkin pie or crème brûlée.$21.907 -

2019 Arista Russian River Valley Chardonnay
Winery Notes- The Russian River Valley Chardonnay is a blend of three Russian River Valley Chardonnay vineyards: El Diablo Vineyard on Eastside Road, Banfield Vineyard on Martinelli Road, and Ritchie Vineyard on Eastside Road. This wine is made with modest amount of new oak to allow the fruit to take center stage and has a great richness and silkiness, yet still possessing firm structure. Notes of brioche, yellow peach, panna cotta, and white flowers greet the nose, while flavors of tangy limeade, pear nectar, lemon zest are buoyed by a savory and mouth-watering mix of acid and minerals on the finish.$69.907 -
2020 Ramey Woolsey Road Vineyard Russian River Valley Chardonnay (Was $80)
Winery Notes- The pinnacle of everything we’ve learned and accomplished, the Martinelli Family planted Woolsey Road to our exacting specifications. The resulting Chardonnay is laser focused. Owned by the Martinelli family, the vineyard was planted specifically for us at their invitation. We were able to provide them with Old Wente cuttings from Hyde Vineyard. Woolsey Road benefits from two greats in the Chardonnay world: it originates from the Hyde family’s cuttings of Old Wente and is farmed by the third and fourth generations of the Martinelli family. Pictured is Lee Martinelli Sr. tending vines with the fifth generation. We press whole grape clusters for phenolic delicacy. Native yeast and full native malolactic fermentation take place in barrel, with sur lies bâtonnage. After aging 20 months in 20% new François Frères and Taransaud Beaune French oak barrels, the Chardonnay was traditionally fined for clarity and texture and bottled without filtration.$64.904 -
2020 Ramey Rochioli Vineyard Russian River Valley Chardonnay (Was $80)
Winery Notes- Few wineries have the privilege of making a Rochioli Vineyard wine. Virtually all are turned down. Mutual respect and a legacy of quality built our families’ partnership. The Rochioli family has grown grapes on their property since the late ‘50s. The vineyard is now farmed by the third generation. Our 2020 Rochioli blend is 82% Mid-40 block and 18% River block. We press whole grape clusters for phenolic delicacy. Native yeast and full native malolactic fermentation take place in barrel, with sur lies bâtonnage. After aging 20 months in 20% new François Frères and Taransaud Beaune French oak barrels, the Chardonnay was traditionally fined for clarity and texture and bottled without filtration.$64.905
