2023 Hyde de Villaine (HDV) Hyde Vineyard Napa Valley Chardonnay
Winery Notes- After three of the most challenging seasons in recent years, with consecutive extreme drought conditions and heat events, 2023 came as a redemption year. The year started with a wet and cold Winter. Spring and early Summer remained cool and overcast, with only a handful of warmer days. Consequently, Harvest was delayed by almost 6 weeks compared to a 10-year average. The waiting was nerve-racking, as early rains and cool Falls are not uncommon in Napa. Moderate weather continued through September and early October, allowing for extended hang time. The crop was balanced and generous, resulting in wines of refined purity and detailed precision.$84.9013 -

Winery Notes- Working with concrete, stainless steel and large oak vessels to marry textures and weights; working with lees to enhance the saline quality; and pressing longer to build structure and expose a minor note of bitterness on the finish. A refreshing and vibrant wine with excellent acidity, our 2022 Sauvignon Blanc is the most exceptional vintage to date. Produced from older vines, this wine expresses notes of star fruit, lemongrass, nectarine, lemon zest, and a natural salinity reminiscent of an ocean mist. The weight and texture of the palate are held together by the bright acidity, leading to a lengthy finish. A double or triple decant elevates all elements of this wine now, or it will open on its own in 2026. 2022 Locanda Beckstoffer Carneros Lake Vineyard Carneros Chardonnay
Winery Notes- This age worthy chardonnay shows ripe apple and star fruit with hints of seared pineapple, mango and peony floral notes on the nose. A wonderfully seamless transition with additional hints of crème brûlée and toffee throughout the long smooth palate. Absolutely worthy of 2-3 years aging to shine its brightest. -
2023 Pahlmeyer Napa Valley Chardonnay
Winery Notes- The 2023 Pahlmeyer Chardonnay is a bright, fresh expression of our mountain fruit, offering remarkable precision and depth. Aromatically, it is highly expressive, with notes of honeysuckle, orange blossom, and preserved lemon, deepening into a core of tangerine and apricot. A touch of toasted almond and a subtle flinty note add further complexity. On the palate, this Chardonnay balances intensity with elegance — finely detailed and in perfect focus. 2024 Hanna Russian River Valley Sauvignon Blanc
Winery Notes- I am reminded of a sales trip to Chicago years ago. I proffered our SB to the wine buyer at Green Dolphin Street. A whiff ensued. Then a silent turn to from the bar to retrieve a bottle of Lychee liqueur which was poured and thrust into my hand. The similarity was amazing, as is our ‘24. Our 2024 Sauvignon Blanc has layers of quince, makrut lime, yuzu and pink grapefruit zest with notes of bosc pear, pink lady apple, sencha and even a bit of trillium bloom. By mouth it fresh as spring and round as rain with a delicate, inviting poise.$16.905 -

Winery Notes- This is a new vineyard designated offering from 100% Hanzell Selection grown in a low land Meadow contiguous to the Santa Rosa Creek. It is dry farmed each year and requires extensive shoot and crop thinning each year due to the extreme fertile conditions. Winery Notes- A balanced and memorable Chardonnay that starts with aromas of orange blossom, Asian pear, crème fraiche, peaches and chamomile, complemented by notes of toffee, honeysuckle, and graham cracker. On the palate, flavors of green apple, Meyer lemon and stonefruit are finished with notes of tangerine and vanilla. The palate is taut and precise rather than opulent—citrus and orchard fruit ride a lively acid spine, with subtle almond skin, chamomile, and a light chiffon of lees giving texture without weight. Oak stays in the background (largely neutral in the house style), letting the Spring Mountain minerality lead; malolactic influence is minimal, so the finish is long, saline, and mouthwatering.
