2021 Groth Reserve Oakville Cabernet Sauvignon (Was $150)
Winery Notes- This wine presents a compelling bouquet of deep red and black fruits, with prominent aromas of fresh blackberry, rich dark cassis, and black currant. Fine herbs, ancho chili, allspice, sesame, and hints of menthol add an intriguing complexity. On the palate, sun-ripened wild blackberry leads to indulgent notes of chocolate-covered black cherry and notes of tobacco leaf. A hint of gingerbread introduces a delightful spiciness, harmonizing with soft yet powerful tannins. The finish is lingering and extended, leaving a lasting impression of elegance and depth.$129.902 -
2022 Brewer-Clifton Machado Sta. Rita Hills Pinot Noir
Winery Notes- Looking to secure a mirror-image sister ranch to our 3D Vineyard, we began working with the Machado family in the winter of 2008. Our 15 acre parcel on their land is located adjacent to Clos Pepe and immediately behind the Kessler-Haak Vineyard. The site is marked by a gorgeous rolling terrain with sandy loam soils. At Machado, the majority of the planting is dedicated to pinot noir with equal amounts of such selections as Pommard, Merry Edwards, Mount Eden, and 459. In addition to pinot noir, we also planted a small, two-acre plot in the sandiest portion of the field to the Sweeney Canyon selection of chardonnay.Rating(s)$84.9017 -
2021 Pahlmeyer Jayson Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
Winery Notes- Classic Napa Valley Cabernet aromas of ripe blackberry and red currant are underpinned by an alluring dark forest floor earthiness and a high note of red licorice/candy shop. Valley floor fruit brings mouth-filling plushness to the palate, while concentrated mountain fruit drives through the core. Focused black fruit –cherry, plum, and raspberry –surge long and deep with hints of black olive and freshly cracked pepper. Polished tannins frame and lengthen the palate as a balancing acidity provides a magnifying lift. The finish is long, juicy, and plush with a thrust of grippy tannin, persisting with notes of vanilla bean, warm spice, and toasted hazelnut.Rating(s)$87.901 -
2021 Philip Togni Tanbark Hill Spring Mountain District Cabernet Sauvignon (Was $110)
Winery Notes- Made from certain Cabernet Sauvignon blocks of our vineyard and is a wine that is more approachable when young.$86.906 -
2021 Schrader Double Diamond Oakville Cabernet Sauvignon (1.5LTR)
Winery Notes- The 2021 Cabernet Sauvignon stands to outshine the award-winning 2019 vintage with even deeper concentration and complexity. On the nose, the wine leaps from the glass with ripe blackberry, cassis, black cherry, and red plum, with a lovely herbaceous undertone. The palate expresses juicy red and black fruits with hints of black tea, damp earth, vanilla bean, lavender, and just a touch of flint. With fine-grained tannins and mouthwatering acidity that lingers through the long finish, this wine is ready to drink upon release but will cellar well for years to come.$194.901 -
1995 Dalla Valle Maya Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend
Deep garnet color. Sweet ripe fruit jumps out of the glass. Quintessential example of Napa Cabernet. Impressive ripeness with hints of sweet cherries, plums, blackberries, kirsch, licorice and anise, vanilla, tar, toast. Fresh, feminine, good tannins without being aggressive. Touch of camphor. Red and black fruits. Very exotic. Vanilla. Layers of flavors. A seamless, harmonious wine. Gripping tannins. Long finish. -
1997 Groth Reserve Oakville Cabernet Sauvignon
The Reserve Cabernet is distinguished form our Estate Cabernet at the very beginning in the vineyard. Selected portions of the Oakcross Vineyard are allowed further ripening time in order to intensify the rich cherry/berry characters that define our vineyard site. Distinctive notes of plum, black cherry, vanilla and spice are apparent in the extraordinary aroma and flavor profile of this Reserve vintage. A firm yet supple tannin backbone promises exceptional development and complexity from extended bottle aging.$179.999 -
1997 Shafer Hillside Select Stags Leap District Cabernet Sauvignon
Just when we thought this one would never grow up, we find it moving past primary fruit with elegant characteristics of cedar, tea and tobacco. Even so, expect the ’97 to remain lively for a few years to come as it still offers big mouthfeel, dark color, with flavors of chocolate and black fruit. A long finish of mocha, vanilla and spice is tied up with the classic tannins of the Stags Leap District
