#8 Wine Spectator Top 100 of 2025 Winery Notes- Wayfarer’s flagship Pinot Noir encapsulates the truest representation of our estate vineyard each vintage, a wine that can only be from one place in the world. Our ten Pinot Noir clonal selections are planted in individual blocks on both east and west facing slopes, providing myriad expressions of clone, aspect, elevation and microclimate to reveal the complex character of our exceptional vineyard. The 2023 Pinot Noir ‘The Estate’ flaunts a vibrant ruby hue in the glass. Expressive, layered aromatics evoke alpine strawberry, black raspberry, crushed rose petal, green cardamom, pomegranate and fresh sage. The seamless pure fruit character is framed with firm but finely textured tannin and elevated with a fresh backbone of acidity. While drinking beautifully now, this vintage will continue to develop nuance and complexity in bottle for the next decade.$89.902 -
2023 Sea Smoke Ten Sta. Rita Hills Pinot Noir
Winery Notes- A brooding and intense wine. The aromas begin with notes of blueberry, cassis, a hint of lavender followed by a myriad of exotic spices, some hazelnut, thyme and an element of licorice. Firm, mature tannins—evidence of Ten’s ageability—are followed by a long, velvety finish.$99.906 -

2023 Pisoni Estate Santa Lucia Highlands Pinot Noir
Winery Notes- Each year, we dedicate our energy and efforts to crafting one distinguished Pisoni Estate Pinot Noir which demonstrates our connection with the vineyard and communicates the nature of its hardy, granitic soils and the windswept hillsides that rise around it. We practice great vigilance over the fruit, aiming for modest yields in order to obtain our Estate Pinot Noir’s intense character, rich color, and exuberant aromatics. Production is extremely limited, varying annually between 500-800 cases.$104.905 -
2023 Domaine Dujac Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru Aux Combottes
Winery Notes- Les Combottes, a locality south of the village of Gevrey-Chambertin, lies halfway up the hill, just below the steep incline of Les Monts Luisants, in a steeply sloping area (5–6%). Ranging in altitude from 271 to 282 meters, this lieu-dit faces due east. The soil changes from east to west. In the eastern part of the plot, the reddish-brown soil is 40 to 50 cm thick, containing angular-to-rounded limestone fragments. In the western part of the lieu-dit, the soil is rich in fine angular limestone gravel. The underlying substratum Les Combottes is ocher-colored crinoidal limestone (limestone in Entroques), rich in debris from marine organisms. To the west, this layer is overlain by bedded limestone scree (grèzes litées), covering the upper part of the slope. This Comblanchien limestone scree is composed of fine angular gravel..$389.905 -
2023 Peter Michael Le Caprice Fort Ross-Seaview Pinot Noir
Winery Notes- A brilliant mélange of red rose petals, black and red cherry, dried orange peel, candied plum, and blackberry soar from the glass of the 2023 'Le Caprice', embodying the terroir from the steepest vineyard blocks of our Seaview Estate. The lifted nose is framed by hints of baking spices and wild strawberries. The round, supple entry leads to a focused, juicy mid-palate with a long, smooth finish. 2022 Domaine Michel Gros Vosne-Romanée
Winery Notes- The style of vintage 2022 once more reveals an aromatic profile of high maturity, comparable to vintage 2019, but with fruit that is even more present. The wines are both ample and rich, with lovely balance of acidity, silky tannins and explosive fruit. 2022 Brewer-Clifton Machado Sta. Rita Hills Pinot Noir
Winery Notes- Looking to secure a mirror-image sister ranch to our 3D Vineyard, we began working with the Machado family in the winter of 2008. Our 15 acre parcel on their land is located adjacent to Clos Pepe and immediately behind the Kessler-Haak Vineyard. The site is marked by a gorgeous rolling terrain with sandy loam soils. At Machado, the majority of the planting is dedicated to pinot noir with equal amounts of such selections as Pommard, Merry Edwards, Mount Eden, and 459. In addition to pinot noir, we also planted a small, two-acre plot in the sandiest portion of the field to the Sweeney Canyon selection of chardonnay.$84.9017
