Winery Notes- From the acclaimed Beckstoffer Las Piedras Vineyard, this opulent, plush, fruit bomb Cabernet opens with rich scents of blackberry, caramel, and anise on the nose. On the palate, it illustrates power, finesse, and balance with flavors of dark cherries, plum, chocolate, and fresh earth. 2023 Bedrock Evangelho Vineyard Heritage Wine Contra Costa County Red Blend
Winery Notes- Of all the vineyards we farm, Evangelho has been hit the hardest by the record drought conditions we’re currently experiencing in California. Cropping was less than a third of average at 1.1 tons per acre, and the wine shows the added degree of intensity as a result. We have joked that the 2021 is almost like a 'demi-glace' of Evangelho, where all its core elements have been concentrated by the small berries and lack of crop. As always, there is great natural brightness here due to winds that sweep through the vineyard every day of the growing season combined with dense red fruits, spice and the signature umami element imparted by the interplanted Mataro and Carignan. This will likely be one of the most age-worthy Evangelhos we have made based on its density alone.$39.9020 -
2019 Paul Hobbs Coombsville Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (375ml Half Bottle) (Was $50)
Winery Notes- Since our inaugural release last year, this wine has quickly become one of the most compelling in our portfolio. Offering a gorgeous deep purple hue, our 2019 captivates with a bouquet of crushed blueberry, summer savory spice, and a delicate tobacco leaf note. The palate is remarkably balanced with well-integrated tannins and fresh acidity that wraps around boysenberry and black fig along subtle notes of rosemary and a crush rock minerality, which lends tension through the long finish.$39.903 -
2021 Groth Reserve Oakville Cabernet Sauvignon (Was $150)
Winery Notes- This wine presents a compelling bouquet of deep red and black fruits, with prominent aromas of fresh blackberry, rich dark cassis, and black currant. Fine herbs, ancho chili, allspice, sesame, and hints of menthol add an intriguing complexity. On the palate, sun-ripened wild blackberry leads to indulgent notes of chocolate-covered black cherry and notes of tobacco leaf. A hint of gingerbread introduces a delightful spiciness, harmonizing with soft yet powerful tannins. The finish is lingering and extended, leaving a lasting impression of elegance and depth.$129.902 -
2019 Jonata Todos Ballard Canyon Red Blend
Winery Notes- Incense and Nag Champa fragrance. Bidis. Clove and cigar and black and red licorice. Dark and brooding with sweet blackberries, blueberries, cinnamon and baking spice. Black figs. Cracked white pepper. Like 2013 Todos in its power and breadth. Salty and tight today. Spicy and dark. Lovely depth of fruit. Tannins that start to build on the 3/4 pallet and slowly coat the entire mouth. Bundle of fruit wrapped in a formidable package of complex structure. Will reward those who decant and those who give it a few years in the cellar. One of my favorite Todos to date, no doubt.
