The Reserve Cabernet is distinguished from our Estate Cabernet at the very beginning in the vineyard. Selected portions of the Oakcross Vineyard are allowed further ripening time in order to intensify the rich cherry/berry characters that define our vineyard site. Further selection in the vineyard and at the winery result in distinctive notes of plum, black cherry, vanilla and spice which are apparent in the extraordinary aroma and flavor profile of this Reserve vintage. 1999 Robert Craig Mount Veeder Cabernet Sauvignon
Aromas are rich aromas of dark, black fruit and roasted coffee, followed by notes of dusty cedar, anise and hints of herbs. On the palate flavors are forward, concentrated flavors of ripe black cherry, currant, plum and spice, with a touch of cedar and mocha. The finish is solid, thick core of black fruit lengthens and combines with toasty, sweet oak and silky chocolate for a full and delicious finish. Overall the wine is seamless integration of flavors from start to finish.
