2024 Tenuta Ghiaccio Forte Morellino di Scansano
The 2024 Tenuta Ghiaccio Forte Morellino di Scansano is a captivating red wine that embodies the essence of Tuscany's coastal region. Deep ruby in color, it entices with aromas of ripe red cherries, blackberries, and a hint of Mediterranean herbs. On the palate, it offers a delightful combination of juicy fruit flavors, including plums and dark berries, complemented by a touch of baking spices and subtle earthiness. The wine's medium body and smooth tannins create a well-balanced structure, while the refreshing acidity adds vibrancy. The finish is long and satisfying, leaving a lingering note of sweet fruit and a touch of leather. Perfectly suited for pairing with classic Italian dishes, such as hearty pastas and grilled meats, this Morellino di Scansano promises a memorable and authentic Tuscan experience.Rating(s)$19.9024 -
2023 Castello Banfi Rosso di Montalcino
Winery Notes- A mild winter and an exceptionally warm April led to an early budbreak. The cool and rainy months of May and June were followed by July and August with temperatures so high they inhibited photosynthesis and delayed ripening. In early September, temperatures suddenly dropped below average and were accompanied by frequent rainfall. This unusual seasonal pattern resulted in wines that are fresher, lower in alcohol and concentration, yet marked by surprisingly graceful tannins. The color is bright ruby red with fresh, sweet and fruity aromas of blackberry and ripe cherry: floral and spicy notes of vanilla, tobacco and licorice are also evident. The structure is ample, concentrated and harmonious, with good acidity; beautiful final persistence that gives pleasantness to the drink.Rating(s)$29.901 -
2023 Vietti Trevie Barbera D'Alba
Winery Notes- In southern Piedmont, Nebbiolo is the prestige grape variety, but Barbera is the variety that is most planted and that, for many, pays the bills. People drink Barbera more often than Nebbiolo, partly because of the price differential and also because it is easier to drink when first released. Vietti's Tre Vigne Barbera d'Alba is sourced from three of the most distinctive vineyards (tre vigne) including Scarrone in Castiglione in the Langhe area around Barolo and the city of Alba.$27.9011 -
2023 Cordero di Montezemolo Barbera d'Alba
Winery Notes- Farming tradition that found its rightful dimension in the mid-1990s. The Barbera grape has always been grown in Piedmont, but because of its, undeserved, reputation, it was neglected for many years and associated with the image of “farmer’s wine” in the derogatory sense that this term once held. Its potential emerged with new energy in the early 1990s thanks to various producers and now, having found its legitimate dignity, it is an indispensable and distinctive representative of this area. This wine is obtained from the fusion of all the plots of Barbera managed by the winery which, due to their different age, location and soils, are harvested separately, then aged for a short period of 4/6 months in wood and finally joined together in a single cuvée to maintain a freshness, balance, pleasantness and genuineness that make it ideal for every palate.$26.901 -
2023 Sette Ponti Crognolo Toscana
Winery Notes- First made in 1998, it takes its name from a wild plant that grows abundantly on the estate, Cornelian cherry or cornus mas. This wine strongly represents the vision of its creator, with an eye to the valorization of the territory and to innovation achieved through traditions that evolve. The base of the wine is Sangiovese – from clones from the oldest vineyard on the estate, Vigna dell’Impero, which was planted by Amedeo, Duke of Savoy-Aosta in 1935. This historic variety was grafted in vineyards with stony soils rich in marl. We carefully select the best Sangiovese grapes, which make up more than 90% of the wine. We add a small quantity of Merlot, which gives smoothness, immediacy, and color to the wine.$29.9011
