2023 Robert Mondavi Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon

2023 Patz & Hall Hyde Vineyard Carneros Chardonnay (Was $60)
Winery Notes- This Chardonnay is from blocks planted for Patz & Hall in 1997 and 1999 using the famous “Hyde Wente” selection of Chardonnay. The 2022 Hyde Chardonnay demonstrates why this vineyard has been a three-star, acclaimed Patz & Hall offering for over 30 years. The just ripe pomaceous fruit mingles seamlessly with the vanilla spice from careful new French oak ageing. Evidence of lees contact show by richness of palate and a nuance of toast and flint. This wine has wonderfully fresh acidity that is contrasted by startling deep, rich textures, a seeming contradiction, found in only the greatest Chardonnays.Rating(s)$39.906 -

2023 Bonny Doon Le Cigare Volant Monterey County Rhône Blend
Winery Notes- The fruit is carefully selected to ensure its full potential of ripeness with balanced chemistry, and as usual for Cigare, Grenache is the star of the show. As we all know, Grenache grown in relatively cool sites in coastal California has a growing season long enough for it to create the spicy, peppery quality that we love so much and expect to taste in Cigare. We included, as is our wont, some wonderful Cinsault, a rather plump and juicy grape, which was signee to a fare-thee0well, to increase the concentration of this lightly colored and structured grape. The wine was aged in stainless steel tank and bottled ten months after harvest to preserve freshness and vibrancy.Rating(s)$14.9024 -
2023 Schrader Double Diamond Oakville Cabernet Sauvignon

On the palate, the wine is expansive and silky, revealing concentrated flavors of blackberry, cassis, and dark chocolate, balanced by refined tannins and a vibrant core of acidity. A hint of crushed rock and cedar lingers through the long, harmonious finish, capturing the essence of Oakville’s exceptional terroir.Rating(s)$79.905 -
2023 Martin Ray Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
Winery Notes- This Cabernet is bold and expressive, opening with aromas of black cherry and licorice, layered with subtle notes of smoked bacon and dried herbs. 2023 Caterwaul Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
#51 Wine Spectator Top 100 of 2025 Winery Notes- Great vintages are often signaled early in a wine’s life. Mere weeks into existence, the richness, balance and power of 2023 was clear. Carefully sourced Napa Valley vineyards produced great dividends with a perfect marriage of round tannin and supple fruit. Brilliant scarlet red on the rim, denoting a pronounced natural acidity, the wine quickly finds depth in an opaque, violet hue. A rich nose of crushed minerals and red/black berry fruit fills the glass, framed by dusky, dark violets. Complexity on the initial palate girds the expectation of an unbridled wine. Like gentle giant, this wine clearly has a powerful build but conveys a restrained intensity. Soft tannins marked by toasty oak and a wide frame of confit red and purple fruits mark the midpalate. Freshness extends the long finish. There is something here for everyone, and in abundance.$47.9012 -
2023 Giornata Il Campo Rosso Paso Robles Red Blend
Winery Notes- Always blended to display a signature house style, the Il Campo Rosso marries bright fruit and fresh acidity with a richly textured, medium-weight body. Neutral oak and large Italian casks allow the bright fruit to shine without makeup. A food-friendly, easy drinking style.$22.9012 -
2023 Giornata Paso Robles Montepulciano
Winery Notes- Now with a few vintages with these grapes under our belt, we’ve learned when to pick and how to treat it in the cellar to tame this beast. The brooding nature of this wine, with its intensity and richness, has quickly become a favorite. Take a trip on the dark side.$29.9012 -
2023 Robert Biale Black Chicken Napa Valley Zinfandel
Winery Notes- Showing the influence of the breezy and fog-laced Oak Knoll District, the wine offers rich, plush fruit, delicate acidity and a structure defined by well-ripened, fine-grained tannins. Vibrant aromas of black cherry, dried herbs, and sandalwood on the nose. Expansive on the palate with notes of blackberry, orange peel, plum, and baking spices all driven to a long finish by balanced acidity.$49.902 -
2023 Denner Nightshade Paso Robles Red Blend
Deep ruby-purple in the glass, the 2023 Denner Nightshade opens with plush Paso aromatics—black cherry and blueberry compote layered with cocoa nib, lavender, and dried sagebrush, plus hints of graphite, vanilla bean, and baking spice. The palate is generous yet focused: a core of ripe dark fruit wrapped in velvety, fine-grained tannins, lifted by a lively acid line that keeps all that richness moving. Notes of espresso, dark chocolate, and a savory whisper of black olive and pepper emerge as it unwinds, finishing long, warm, and mouthcoating with a late snap of spice and crushed rock.Rating(s)$39.9018
