2023 Domaine Marquis d'Angerville Volnay 1er Cru Champans
Winery Notes- Domaine Marquis d'Angerville owns 3.98 hectares in the Champans appellation, located just north of the Caillerets appellation. Two parallel plots make up our part of the appellation (11 hectares in total). They extend from the top to the bottom of the Champans climate and the hillside, thus taking advantage of all the characteristics of this remarkable terroir facing south-east, located in the centre of the Premiers Crus de Volnay. The soil is poorer and rests on a rocky limestone bank at the top of the hillside while the slope decreases towards the bottom and it becomes more clayey, stony and deeper. Historically classified as a Têtes de Cuvée de Volnay, Champans is the archetype of the great Volnay 1 er cru: finesse, fullness and length in the mouth with an extra generosity and power of its own. Depending on the vintage, it deserves 5 to 10 years of ageing to fully reveal itself, but it is generally more easily approached young than Taillepieds or Clos des Ducs.$229.903 -

2021 Domaine Castagnier Chambolle-Musigny
Planted in 1934, these vines rest at an elevation of 886 feet on the lieu-dit Aux Echanges. Integrated pest management and biodynamic practices employed in the vineyard, but no certification. Pronounced aromas of wild berries and dried leaves. Ripe red fruit aromas and flavors are focused with a dense texture. This wine is youthful with lively acidity and a dry, zesty finish.$174.903 -
2023 Evening Land Seven Springs Vineyard Eola-Amity Hills Pinot Noir
Winery Notes- Seven Springs Pinot Noir comes primarily from our oldest own-rooted block of Pinot Noir at the vineyard. Originally planted in 1982, these Pommard clones thrive in iron-rich, volcanic Jory soils. The 40-year-old dry-farmed vines are harvested by hand, the grapes are hand sorted, and nearly all of the fruit is destemmed. Drinkability and structure have come to define this estate cuvée, and the 2022 bottling is no different. It shows the many colors of young Pinot Noir - juicy blue and red berries, blood orange and pink peppercorn - with an herbal, thyme-like kick. 2023 Arterberry Maresh Old Vine Dundee Hills Pinot Noir
The Maresh family has had a long and memorable presence in the Dundee Hills. In 1980 Jim and Loie’s daughter, Martha, married Fred Arterberry, Jr. who was one of the first winemakers in Oregon to have a degree in fermentation science from the University of California at Davis. Fred Arterberry was one of the early pioneer winemakers the 1970’s and produced many highly acclaimed wines from the Maresh Vineyard. In 1983 Martha and Fred had a son, Jim Arterberry Maresh. His father’s winery label — Arterberry — closed upon Fred’s death in 1990. Beginning in 2005 Jim founded his own winery, Arterberry Maresh, and is the first in Oregon to represent a third generation in Oregon’s wine industry. Raised on his family’s farm since he was born has given Jim a strong connection to and appreciation of the Red Hills of Dundee. He knows the vineyards, the neighbors and the various seasons and vintages that challenge and reward each grape grower and winemaker. His is a deep history of family, farming and winemaking. His wines reflect that heritage and the experience of three generations farming since 1959.$39.905 -

2023 Cep (Peay Vineyards) Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir
Winery Notes- The ideal expression of Pinot Noir to us is a wine that has body without heaviness and is full of flavor but graceful and elegant. The 2023 Cep Pinot Noir captures this essence and is just gorgeous. The aroma features bright fruits of raspberry, pomegranate, and cranberry with floral elements blowing through and a slightly brambly, anise quality giving ballast in the face of the high tones. It is full-flavored yet not rich, a quality I find very attractive and unique, especially at this price point. The acidity is mouth-watering though not aggressive. The tell-tale Peay Pinot Noir aromas of dried pine needle, jasmine tea, and earth linger in the aftertaste. This wine offers charm, complexity, and value. Cep is the second label of Peay Vineyards. The Pinot Noir is made from barrels that do not go into one of the Peay Pinot Noirs and, oftentimes, many of the barrels from a specific block found in a Peay wine are also in this cuvée. This style of Pinot Noir is simply not found in wines at this price point as it is made to be Peay and has impeccable balance, finesse, and site expressiveness. 2023 Domaine Joannet Pernand-Vergelesses Rouge
Its a classic Côte de Beaune village Pinot that leans bright, lifted, and savory rather than heavy. It opens with strawberry, raspberry, and red cherry, backed by a pretty violet/peony floral note. On the palate it’s medium-bodied and energetic, with fine-grained tannins and proper, mouthwatering acidity that keeps the fruit crisp and the finish clean. 2023 Domaine Gaston & Pierre Ravaut Bourgogne Cote d'Or
The wine is a classic, bright-fruited Côte de Beaune–leaning Pinot Noir that opens with fresh red cherry, morello cherry, and raspberry, lifted by a pretty floral edge—peony/violet—and a subtle hint of dried herb. On the palate it’s nimble and “nervy” (fresh acidity, fine tannin), with a clean, juicy core of red berries and a light creamy/toasty touch from élevage that rounds the mid-palate without weighing it down. 2023 Dominique Roger Les Deserts Sancerre
The Roger family’s roots in the Sancerre can be measured in centuries, with records showing the family residing in the region since the early 18th century. It was in 1950 that Dominique’s father Maurice started Domaine du Carrou in one Sancerre’s finest villages, Bué. This high altitude bastion of Sauvignon Blanc boasts all three of the regions famed soil types: terres blanches, caillotes, and an enviable percentage of silex. In the vineyards, Dominique chooses to work the soils constantly, allowing the roots to extend into the limestone mother rock. Herbicides and pesticides are never used and the grapes are only hand harvested (a practice that is becoming rarer and rarer in Sancerre). In the cellar, only indigenous yeasts are used and the wines are aged in tank to preserve the mineral cut of these privileged vineyards. The dedication put forth by the Roger family has vaulted to the upper echelons of the region. Domaine du Carrou is consistently ranked as one of the top producers in all of Sancerre by La Revue du Vin de France and other French publications.$39.9021 -
