2023 Domaine Marquis d'Angerville Volnay 1er Cru Champans
Winery Notes- Domaine Marquis d'Angerville owns 3.98 hectares in the Champans appellation, located just north of the Caillerets appellation. Two parallel plots make up our part of the appellation (11 hectares in total). They extend from the top to the bottom of the Champans climate and the hillside, thus taking advantage of all the characteristics of this remarkable terroir facing south-east, located in the centre of the Premiers Crus de Volnay. The soil is poorer and rests on a rocky limestone bank at the top of the hillside while the slope decreases towards the bottom and it becomes more clayey, stony and deeper. Historically classified as a Têtes de Cuvée de Volnay, Champans is the archetype of the great Volnay 1 er cru: finesse, fullness and length in the mouth with an extra generosity and power of its own. Depending on the vintage, it deserves 5 to 10 years of ageing to fully reveal itself, but it is generally more easily approached young than Taillepieds or Clos des Ducs.$229.903 -

Winery Notes- The 2022 PlumpJack Estate Cabernet Sauvignon opens with vibrant aromas of cherry and raspberry cordial intermingled with juicy boysenberry. Beneath the fruit, warming spices emerge – cinnamon and nutmeg bring depth to the wine, while a touch of cocoa adds to the complexity. Finally, a subtle note of sage infuses the wine with an herbal freshness that lifts the wine. Winery Notes- “Leviathan” conjures something immense and powerful, much like the stories that the name originates from. The word was actually the progenitor of the wine. “When I heard it, I thought it was so much fun and I should make a wine called Leviathan,” Andy has said. It became the perfect symbol embodying the vision to create a single, expansive wine fed by multiple unique sites – our California vineyard exploration. It also served as the inspiration for the label, designed by Michael McDermott in collaboration with Andy. A Leviathan is something unusually huge, and Michael wanted the label to reflect that. Simple and abstract, dark but not sinister.$59.902 -
2023 Evening Land Seven Springs Vineyard Eola-Amity Hills Pinot Noir
Winery Notes- Seven Springs Pinot Noir comes primarily from our oldest own-rooted block of Pinot Noir at the vineyard. Originally planted in 1982, these Pommard clones thrive in iron-rich, volcanic Jory soils. The 40-year-old dry-farmed vines are harvested by hand, the grapes are hand sorted, and nearly all of the fruit is destemmed. Drinkability and structure have come to define this estate cuvée, and the 2022 bottling is no different. It shows the many colors of young Pinot Noir - juicy blue and red berries, blood orange and pink peppercorn - with an herbal, thyme-like kick. 2023 Arterberry Maresh Old Vine Dundee Hills Pinot Noir
The Maresh family has had a long and memorable presence in the Dundee Hills. In 1980 Jim and Loie’s daughter, Martha, married Fred Arterberry, Jr. who was one of the first winemakers in Oregon to have a degree in fermentation science from the University of California at Davis. Fred Arterberry was one of the early pioneer winemakers the 1970’s and produced many highly acclaimed wines from the Maresh Vineyard. In 1983 Martha and Fred had a son, Jim Arterberry Maresh. His father’s winery label — Arterberry — closed upon Fred’s death in 1990. Beginning in 2005 Jim founded his own winery, Arterberry Maresh, and is the first in Oregon to represent a third generation in Oregon’s wine industry. Raised on his family’s farm since he was born has given Jim a strong connection to and appreciation of the Red Hills of Dundee. He knows the vineyards, the neighbors and the various seasons and vintages that challenge and reward each grape grower and winemaker. His is a deep history of family, farming and winemaking. His wines reflect that heritage and the experience of three generations farming since 1959.$39.905 -

2023 Cep (Peay Vineyards) Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir
Winery Notes- The ideal expression of Pinot Noir to us is a wine that has body without heaviness and is full of flavor but graceful and elegant. The 2023 Cep Pinot Noir captures this essence and is just gorgeous. The aroma features bright fruits of raspberry, pomegranate, and cranberry with floral elements blowing through and a slightly brambly, anise quality giving ballast in the face of the high tones. It is full-flavored yet not rich, a quality I find very attractive and unique, especially at this price point. The acidity is mouth-watering though not aggressive. The tell-tale Peay Pinot Noir aromas of dried pine needle, jasmine tea, and earth linger in the aftertaste. This wine offers charm, complexity, and value. Cep is the second label of Peay Vineyards. The Pinot Noir is made from barrels that do not go into one of the Peay Pinot Noirs and, oftentimes, many of the barrels from a specific block found in a Peay wine are also in this cuvée. This style of Pinot Noir is simply not found in wines at this price point as it is made to be Peay and has impeccable balance, finesse, and site expressiveness. 2023 Sapaio Volpolo Bolgheri
The estate Podere Sapaio was founded in 1999. Its 40 hectars are spread between the Councils of Castagneto Carducci and Bibbona. Grape varieties of Bordeaux origin -Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and Merlot-, which in the last fifty years have imposed themselves in the area, are grown in lands of quaternary deposits. Other grape varieties are present in small quantities. There are also some hectares of land, which are part of the estate, where Frantoio, Moraiolo and Leccino cultivars of olive trees are grown.$31.9024+ -
