2023 Bonny Doon Le Cigare Volant Monterey County Rhône Blend
Winery Notes- The fruit is carefully selected to ensure its full potential of ripeness with balanced chemistry, and as usual for Cigare, Grenache is the star of the show. As we all know, Grenache grown in relatively cool sites in coastal California has a growing season long enough for it to create the spicy, peppery quality that we love so much and expect to taste in Cigare. We included, as is our wont, some wonderful Cinsault, a rather plump and juicy grape, which was signee to a fare-thee0well, to increase the concentration of this lightly colored and structured grape. The wine was aged in stainless steel tank and bottled ten months after harvest to preserve freshness and vibrancy.Rating(s)$14.9024 -
2023 Ravenswood Teldeschi Vineyard Dry Creek Valley Zinfandel
Winery Notes- This dry-farmed John Teldeschi Vineyard Zinfandel exhibits its signature richness with generously concentrated dark fruit restrained by a touch of acidity and black pepper.Rating(s)$39.903 -
2023 Robert Biale Black Chicken Napa Valley Zinfandel
Winery Notes- Showing the influence of the breezy and fog-laced Oak Knoll District, the wine offers rich, plush fruit, delicate acidity and a structure defined by well-ripened, fine-grained tannins. Vibrant aromas of black cherry, dried herbs, and sandalwood on the nose. Expansive on the palate with notes of blackberry, orange peel, plum, and baking spices all driven to a long finish by balanced acidity.$49.901 -
2023 Seghesio Old Vine Sonoma County Zinfandel
Winery Notes- The wine invites you in with a depth of aromatics of black plum, fig, and baking spices. Our Old Vine Zinfandel opens with a luscious mouth filling entry of candied figs, baking spices and mocha. Savory notes and lengthy tannins on the mid-palate give way to a rich, velvety dense finish with intense structure.Rating(s)$27.905 -
2023 Ridge Vineyards East Bench Dry Creek Valley Zinfandel
Winery Notes- Strawberry, clove and vanilla notes on the nose. Raspberry, sage, chocolate and black olive flavors give way to mouth-coating tannins with bright acidity and a long finish. Classic Dry Creek Valley Zinfandel.Rating(s)$29.903 -
2023 Turley Dragon Vineyard Howell Mountain Zinfandel
Winery Notes- Dragon Vineyard is an estate-farmed, certified organic vineyard. Planted at 2250 feet at one of the highest points on Howell Mountain, the vineyard sits well above the fog line and faces east, first to receive the soft morning sun. These important features, along with the rocky, red volcanic soil, make for a unique, full-bodied, powerful Zinfandel. This is often Larry’s favorite since it goes with what he most likes to cook: bold, flavorful, spice-laden meats laid over an open fire. There’s a reason Howell Mountain was the first designated sub-AVA in Napa Valley: the wines from this hallowed ridge are the most distinctive in the entire region.$59.902 -
2023 Margerum M5 Santa Barbara County Rhône Blend
Winery Notes- M5 is Margerum's Flagship wine. It is modeled after top wines from southern Rhône – Châteauneuf-du-Pape . The M is for Margerum and the 5 is for 5 grapes: Grenache, Syrah, Mourvèdre, Cinsault, and Counoise. M5 is a Grenache-based blend and has elegance and layers making it a versatile table and food wine. The overlying presence of Grenache flavors initially impacts the palate, followed by a finish complete with hints of jam, cocoa, and dark berry contributions of Syrah and earthy Mourvèdre. It’s a “go-to” wine since it drinks well with every occasion and almost every type of cuisine. Syrah adds richness and power, Mourvèdre adds earthy, old world, Counoise adds aromatics of watermelon and Cinsault adds a spice component Largely estate plus purchased grapes & made with Reductive winemaking style. Aged in 50% neutral puncheons and 50% neutral and a few new barrels. Finish primary/secondary in barrel. Then blended. Never racked. Great with almost any food at the table.Rating(s)$24.901 -
2023 Tablas Creek Patelin de Tablas Paso Robles Rhône Blend
Winery Notes- A pretty, savory nose of black pepper and teriyaki marinade. Lovely on the palate with black fruit and black licorice in front, leavened by plum skin acids and a finish with sweet sarsaparilla and smoky oolong tea notes. It is somehow both serious and playful and should be a great introduction for people into the category of California Rhone-style blends.$21.907
