2023 Domaine Génot-Boulanger 1er cru Mercurey-Sazenay
Winery Notes- Mercurey is one of the most important wine appellations in Burgundy and also the most renowned in the Côte Chalonnaise. Our plot was planted in part in the 2000s and partly in 2015. It covers 1.81 hectares and is located on the top of the hillside with a south-facing exposure. The vine rests on a beautiful slope and thus receives the right amount of water necessary for its growth. In addition, it draws its resources from a soil that is predominantly clay-limestone.Rating(s)$79.906 -
2023 Domaine Marquis d'Angerville Volnay 1er Cru Champans
Winery Notes- Domaine Marquis d'Angerville owns 3.98 hectares in the Champans appellation, located just north of the Caillerets appellation. Two parallel plots make up our part of the appellation (11 hectares in total). They extend from the top to the bottom of the Champans climate and the hillside, thus taking advantage of all the characteristics of this remarkable terroir facing south-east, located in the centre of the Premiers Crus de Volnay. The soil is poorer and rests on a rocky limestone bank at the top of the hillside while the slope decreases towards the bottom and it becomes more clayey, stony and deeper. Historically classified as a Têtes de Cuvée de Volnay, Champans is the archetype of the great Volnay 1 er cru: finesse, fullness and length in the mouth with an extra generosity and power of its own. Depending on the vintage, it deserves 5 to 10 years of ageing to fully reveal itself, but it is generally more easily approached young than Taillepieds or Clos des Ducs.$229.903 -
2021 Domaine Boris Champy Pommard En Bouf
Winery Notes- Our Pommard “En Boeuf” comes from a plot situated in Pommard’s heights, in a well ventilated valley. It matches well the spirit and the style of the domaine; a constant search for freshness and elegance. Fresh nose of raspberry and blackcurrant. The mouth develops very fine tanins, far from the tanic and harsch structure from some wines in this appellation. This wine must be decanted in its youth to reveal its full complexity.Rating(s)$109.901 -
2023 Domaine Dujac Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru Aux Combottes
Winery Notes- Les Combottes, a locality south of the village of Gevrey-Chambertin, lies halfway up the hill, just below the steep incline of Les Monts Luisants, in a steeply sloping area (5–6%). Ranging in altitude from 271 to 282 meters, this lieu-dit faces due east. The soil changes from east to west. In the eastern part of the plot, the reddish-brown soil is 40 to 50 cm thick, containing angular-to-rounded limestone fragments. In the western part of the lieu-dit, the soil is rich in fine angular limestone gravel. The underlying substratum Les Combottes is ocher-colored crinoidal limestone (limestone in Entroques), rich in debris from marine organisms. To the west, this layer is overlain by bedded limestone scree (grèzes litées), covering the upper part of the slope. This Comblanchien limestone scree is composed of fine angular gravel..$389.905 -
2022 Domaine Michel Gros Vosne-Romanée 1er Cru Clos des Réas
Winery Notes- The style of vintage 2022 once more reveals an aromatic profile of high maturity, comparable to vintage 2019, but with fruit that is even more present. The wines are both ample and rich, with lovely balance of acidity, silky tannins and explosive fruit. The whole range of wines already offers immediate tasting pleasure and the higher appellations will gain from patience over some years in cellar.$199.901 -
