2023 Hayfork Calistoga Napa Valley Charbono
Winery Notes- The Hayfork Charbono is sourced from the sustainably farmed Shypoke Vineyard in Calistoga, where the Heitz family has been growing Charbono since 1904. This wine is medium-bodied with with stunning dark ruby color and surprising structure. Charbono is approachable but proves its complexity and nuance with layers of earthy tannin and generous flavors of black plum, wild raspberry, warming spices, and bay laurel.$34.9021 -
2023 Ravenswood Teldeschi Vineyard Dry Creek Valley Zinfandel
Winery Notes- This dry-farmed John Teldeschi Vineyard Zinfandel exhibits its signature richness with generously concentrated dark fruit restrained by a touch of acidity and black pepper.Rating(s)$39.903 -
2023 Turley Hayne Vineyard Napa Valley Zinfandel
Deep garnet to the rim, the 2023 Turley Hayne Vineyard Zinfandel opens with a rush of blackberry, black raspberry, and mulberry compote layered over violets, briar, and warm baking spice. With air, notes of cocoa nib, cracked pepper, anise, and a graphite/mineral thread emerge. The palate is plush yet poised—dense old-vine fruit at the core framed by fine, powdery tannins and lively acidity—gliding into a long, mouth-coating finish of dark berries, dried rose, and savory spice.$79.9010 -
2023 Robert Biale Black Chicken Napa Valley Zinfandel
Winery Notes- Showing the influence of the breezy and fog-laced Oak Knoll District, the wine offers rich, plush fruit, delicate acidity and a structure defined by well-ripened, fine-grained tannins. Vibrant aromas of black cherry, dried herbs, and sandalwood on the nose. Expansive on the palate with notes of blackberry, orange peel, plum, and baking spices all driven to a long finish by balanced acidity.$49.901 -
2022 Carlisle Papera Ranch Vineyard Russian River Valley Zinfandel
Winery Notes- Medium-dark to dark garnet-ruby. An incredibly gorgeous, hi-toned nose of raspberry, cherry, Red Haven peach, and fresh tobacco. It’s difficult to pull your nose away from the glass! On the palate, medium-full bodied with flavors of raspberry, red licorice whips, cinnamon, and blood orange. So jubilant, so refreshing. Just an utter joy to drink. Enjoy now but with ample acidity and perfect balance, this wine should still be in fine form in 2036.$48.9010 -
2023 Turley Dragon Vineyard Howell Mountain Zinfandel
Winery Notes- Dragon Vineyard is an estate-farmed, certified organic vineyard. Planted at 2250 feet at one of the highest points on Howell Mountain, the vineyard sits well above the fog line and faces east, first to receive the soft morning sun. These important features, along with the rocky, red volcanic soil, make for a unique, full-bodied, powerful Zinfandel. This is often Larry’s favorite since it goes with what he most likes to cook: bold, flavorful, spice-laden meats laid over an open fire. There’s a reason Howell Mountain was the first designated sub-AVA in Napa Valley: the wines from this hallowed ridge are the most distinctive in the entire region.$59.901 -
2022 Brown Estate Napa Valley Zinfandel
Winery Notes- Dark ruby core, crimson rim. Tea rose, blooming lilac, English lavender, framboise. Secondary notes of pine forest, beeswax, boysenberry syrup, toasted brioche, cinnamon, vanilla bean, cloves, and subtle saddle leather. Medium body with silky texture, vibrant acidity, and well-integrated medium tannins. Drink now through 2036+.$44.909 -
2022 Duckhorn Napa Valley Merlot
Winery Notes- This wine opens with an alluring nose of floral notes and dark red berries, characteristic of a quintessential Napa Valley Merlot. The palate is supple and polished with a seamless integration of fruit and tannin, enhanced by the inclusion of Cabernet Sauvignon and a hint of Cabernet Franc. The long, vibrant finish highlights meticulous craftsmanship and perfect balance.$46.904 -
Laird Brut Rosé Napa Valley Sparkling Wine
The mesmerizing rose gold color lends its way to enticing aromas of sweet cherry, almond, and cinnamon spice. The palate has crisp acidity and tantalizing bubbles, along with dynamic flavors that are reminiscent of juicy apple, tart strawberries, and summer dandelions.$39.9014 -
2019 Jonata Todos Ballard Canyon Red Blend
Winery Notes- Incense and Nag Champa fragrance. Bidis. Clove and cigar and black and red licorice. Dark and brooding with sweet blackberries, blueberries, cinnamon and baking spice. Black figs. Cracked white pepper. Like 2013 Todos in its power and breadth. Salty and tight today. Spicy and dark. Lovely depth of fruit. Tannins that start to build on the 3/4 pallet and slowly coat the entire mouth. Bundle of fruit wrapped in a formidable package of complex structure. Will reward those who decant and those who give it a few years in the cellar. One of my favorite Todos to date, no doubt. -
2021 Ballentine Estate Napa Valley Zinfandel
Winery Notes- Red apples with cherry and raspberry flavors create a vibrancy on the palate that makes this wine fruit-forward. Figs, toasted nuts, holiday spices, and mocha come forth on the finish. This is a medium-bodied red, that can be enjoyed now or rested for a few years.$39.902 -
2021 Pride Mountain Napa County Merlot
Winery Notes- More than any other Bordelaise variety, merlot is defined by the fruit it brings to your glass. In our 2021 Merlot, core aromas of blackberry and just-ripe plum are layered over complex notes of bay and dark chocolate, with subtle hints of black cherry and temperate forest entice even further.$68.908 -
2022 Bedrock Wine Co. Bedrock Vineyard - Heritage Wine Sonoma Valley Red Blend
Winery Notes- One of the triumphs of the very good 2022 vintage, this is one of my favorite Bedrock Heritage wines we have made to date. Alas, due to a rough late frost, we also have less of it than normal. Starting in 2022 we adjusted some elements on the viticultural side, including less leafing of the canopy around the clusters. This had a positive impact as the more shaded fruit led to better resolved structure and a bit more suppleness earlier on. This wine always ages beautifully on the back of its tannin component, but sometimes the wines can approach a level of austerity in their youth that requires some patience. Though this wine will still age gracefully for decades, I do think it is one of the more immediately satisfying renditions of the wine— calling to mind the 2012 or 2016 vintages. As always, this is a field-blend of the 20+ varieties planted in 1888 at our home ranch. Based around Zinfandel (roughly 65%), the Bedrock Heritage always has a generous dollop of the spectacular old vine Carignan and Mataro in it, along with the smaller percentages of Syrah, Petite Sirah, Tempranillo, Trousseau, Castets, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Alicante Bouschet, Grand Noir, Lenoir, et al… Wonderfully spicy and perfumed, this wine sings the song of Sonoma Valley.Rating(s)$44.9019 -
2020 Pride Mountain Napa-Sonoma Counties Merlot
Winery Notes- Not only is this a great merlot, it is as beautiful a merlot as we have ever made. What makes it so special? As mandated by merlot, the 2020 is foremost about the fruit, with ripe mulberry and kirsch taking center stage to provide pure smile-inducing pleasure.$64.902
