Winery Notes- “Leviathan” conjures something immense and powerful, much like the stories that the name originates from. The word was actually the progenitor of the wine. “When I heard it, I thought it was so much fun and I should make a wine called Leviathan,” Andy has said. It became the perfect symbol embodying the vision to create a single, expansive wine fed by multiple unique sites – our California vineyard exploration. It also served as the inspiration for the label, designed by Michael McDermott in collaboration with Andy. A Leviathan is something unusually huge, and Michael wanted the label to reflect that. 2023 Aperture Soil Specific Alexander Valley Sauvignon Blanc
Winery Notes- The 2023 sauvignon blanc incorporates our estate-grown sémillion and sauvignon musqué, that we planted on the Aperture property in 2019. These two estate blocks were hand-harvested in early September at the same time as the Sauvignon Blanc from Farrow Ranch in Geyserville. The sauvignon blanc from Dry Stack Vineyard in the Bennett Valley AVA was brought to the winery in early October, consistent with this vineyard’s unique late-ripening characteristics.$36.908 -

2022 Beaulieu Vineyard Tapestry Reserve Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend (Was $65)
Winery Notes- Our 2022 Tapestry Reserve presents a bold and expressive Bordeaux-style red blend, marked by its deep, intense character and elevated structure. Layers of dark fruit—blackberry, plum, and cassis—form the core of the palate, framed by heady aromatics and a generous use of new oak that imparts subtle notes of warm baking spices, toast, and a touch of nuttiness. The inclusion of more Malbec and Petit Verdot in this vintage adds both color intensity and a structural backbone, enhancing the wine’s age-worthiness while lending a more serious, focused profile. There's a distinct lift of acidity that keeps the wine vibrant and food-friendly, balancing the rich fruit and powerful tannins. Underlying it all is a clear sense of place, with an unmistakable earthy depth of Rutherford dust intertwined with the tension and energy of mountain fruit. 2021 Penfolds Bin 704 Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (Was $70)
Winery Notes- On the palate, this wine presents fennel/anise and black liquorice flavours that pave the way for fine yet powerful mouthcoating tannins. The weighty structure carries savoury nuances (artisanal charcuterie paired with tangy barberries) adding layers of complexity. Cherry nuances – both cherry pip tartness and white cherry subtle sweetness – play off each other elegantly. The finish is punctuated by notes of preserved salty plum, which linger long after the last sip.$44.9018 -

2022 Patricia Green Estate - Old Vine Ribbon Ridge Pinot Noir (Was $45)
Winery Notes- The Estate Vineyard, Old Vine bottling is the flagship wine of Patricia Green Cellars. We felt that it was important to maintain the quality and volume of this bottling in 2022, even at the expense of all the specialized bottlings that have earned incredible praise and accolades over the years. This wine has been the defining wine of this vineyard for two decades. Early in this bottling’s existence we may have made only 300-400 cases of it in any given vintage but as time went on and vines aged into the style that this wine encompasses we climbed to over 1,000 cases annually while still finding plenty of fruit for the Etzel Block, Coury Clone, First Vines, Wadensvil Block and the Bonshaw Block specialty bottlings. To some extent the 2022 vintage is the MOST Estate Old Vine Pinot Noir bottling ever as it literally spans the breadth of the site and includes what would essentially be “declassified” versions of those high-end, block designate bottlings. 2022 Soléna Hyland Vineyard McMinnville Willamette Valley Pinot Noir (Was $68)
Winery Notes- Hyland Vineyard is one of the oldest in the Willamette Valley, and has proven time and time again to produce wines that stand up to the best in the world. This bottling has an expressive nose that goes for days. Notes of Jasmine flower, clay putty, and lemon balm start it off, moving to young blueberry and grapefruit on the palate. 2021 Freemark Abbey Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (Was $60)
Winery Notes- Our 2021 Napa Valley Cabernet is our interpretation of a quintessentially classic style. The color is deep garnet and the nose yields aromas of dark chocolate, pomegranate, cedar shavings, blackberry, and leather. The palate exhibits flavors of blueberry compote, black cherry, espresso, and cigar box with bright and juicy fruit forward sensations. 2018 Hestan Meyer Vineyard Napa Cabernet Sauvignon (Was $85)
Winery Notes- In the glass the wine displays a nearly opaque purple-ruby hue. On the nose, there are aromas of black currant, blackberry cassis anise, sweet and sour plum with a hint of black and red licorice. The palate opens with ripe plum, graham and brown sugar with blackberries and white pepper notes. The wine is balanced with soft tannins and a med long finish. Age for 7-12 years.$54.902 -
2021 Hitching Post Highliner Sideways 20 Year Anniversary Santa Barbara County Pinot Noir
Winery Notes- We selected our flagship wine for this commemorative bottling. “Highliner” is an assemblage of only the best lots of all the different Pinot Noirs we make each vintage. Consequently, it earns consistent high praise. The fruit for 2021 Highliner came from 5 different vineyards with the majority sourced from the iconic Sanford & Benedict Vineyard in the Sta. Rita Hills appellation. All vineyards and clones are harvested and produced separately using traditional burgundian techniques. 20 months barrel age in French oak along with masterful blending, brought all the elements to a harmonious whole. "We enjoy making Highliner the most of any of our wines,” states Frank Ostini. “Utilizing the different flavors and textures from all of these vineyards creates a complex and balanced wine that plays to the many keys of Pinot Noir. The 2021 vintage is the best vintage of the 2000s to date.” The moniker “Highliner” refers to the best fishermen in the fleet and references Gray Hartley’s nearly 30 years in the fishing industry prior to winemaking. Highliner Pinot Noir is meant to be the “best of the fleet” of Hitching Post wines.$33.907 -

The palate is linear throughout with a consistent midpalate of bright and lifted acidity and well-integrated raw mountain tannins that close in a persistent finish.
