2022 Chevalier de Lascombes Margaux
Winery Notes- Fresh, vibrant fruit! Le Chevalier immediately delivers a seductive expression of the estate. All the charm and silkiness you would expect from a great Margaux. The tannins are structured yet supple. It can be enjoyed young, or after a few years in the cellar for the discerning enthusiast.$37.901 -
2021 Hitching Post Highliner Sideways 20 Year Anniversary Santa Barbara County Pinot Noir
Rating:★ ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ ★Winery Notes- We selected our flagship wine for this commemorative bottling. “Highliner” is an assemblage of only the best lots of all the different Pinot Noirs we make each vintage. Consequently, it earns consistent high praise. The fruit for 2021 Highliner came from 5 different vineyards with the majority sourced from the iconic Sanford & Benedict Vineyard in the Sta. Rita Hills appellation. All vineyards and clones are harvested and produced separately using traditional burgundian techniques. 20 months barrel age in French oak along with masterful blending, brought all the elements to a harmonious whole. "We enjoy making Highliner the most of any of our wines,” states Frank Ostini. “Utilizing the different flavors and textures from all of these vineyards creates a complex and balanced wine that plays to the many keys of Pinot Noir. The 2021 vintage is the best vintage of the 2000s to date.” The moniker “Highliner” refers to the best fishermen in the fleet and references Gray Hartley’s nearly 30 years in the fishing industry prior to winemaking. Highliner Pinot Noir is meant to be the “best of the fleet” of Hitching Post wines.Rating(s)$33.907 -
2022 Le Chiuse Rosso di Montalcino
Winery Notes- For many it is the little brother of Brunello di Montalcino, but for us Rosso di Montalcino is a wine of distinct personality. Coming out in the second year after the harvest, it is the youngest of our wines, meaning that it is also the wine that best expresses the varietal character of Sangiovese in its juiciness and freshness. Unlike Brunello, it’s essential that the Rosso shows greater balance and smoothness from the start, which is why we tend to use larger grape bunches in order to achieve lower tannic concentration in a shorter period of maturation. Yet we guarantee the same quality level as Brunello in a wine coming from the same vineyards where yields are less than 50 quintals per hectare After aging for about a year in large Slavonian oak barrels, the wine is bottled and put on the market. In our lives it is an important wine because it is the bottle we uncork every day, not only for its agility and ease of drinking but also and above all for its great versatility in pairing with food, able to bring joy and harmony to every meal.$39.903 -
2023 Merry Edwards Russian River Valley Sauvignon Blanc
Winery Notes- We began making our Russian River Valley Sauvignon Blanc in 2001, and we have lovingly reproduced this delicious wine each vintage since. Winemaker Heidi von der Mehden follows specific protocols, including fermentation in French oak barrels and twice-weekly lees stirring, to craft this aromatic, lush bottling. The nose of the 2023 vintage features fragrant tropical aromas of white pineapple, passionfruit, mango and guava, with subtle hints of plumeria, lemon curd and lime zest. The palate is clean and bright, with accents of ruby red grapefruit, honeysuckle and ripe melon followed by a burst of crisp, refreshing acidity.$44.904 -
2019 Jonata Todos Ballard Canyon Red Blend
Winery Notes- Incense and Nag Champa fragrance. Bidis. Clove and cigar and black and red licorice. Dark and brooding with sweet blackberries, blueberries, cinnamon and baking spice. Black figs. Cracked white pepper. Like 2013 Todos in its power and breadth. Salty and tight today. Spicy and dark. Lovely depth of fruit. Tannins that start to build on the 3/4 pallet and slowly coat the entire mouth. Bundle of fruit wrapped in a formidable package of complex structure. Will reward those who decant and those who give it a few years in the cellar. One of my favorite Todos to date, no doubt. -
2021 Lingua Franca AVNI Willamette Valley Chardonnay
Rating:★ ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ ★Winery Notes- The aroma is complex with layers of mineral, citrus, white flowers and gunflint. On the palate the wine is balanced, vibrant and racy with a long finish. The natural acidity of the region is rounded by labor-intensive barrel fermentation and aging. Avni 2021 has nuances of lemon peel, green apple, fresh herbs, and a softer edge of pear and vanilla blossom in the background.Rating(s)$36.9010
