2023 Aphros Phaunus Loureiro Amphora Portugal (Orange Wine)
Founded in 2002, Aphros is a project designed to combine ecological and economical aspects to create true sustainability. Their belief is that nature and labor should combine in a meaningful way and they seek to capture this through Biodynamic viticulture, letting the uniqueness of the land shine through the fruit for inimitable wines. Loureiro and Vinhão have grown in these vineyards for centuries and serve as the reference point for the region. The grapes are sourced from the Lima sub-region and the vines of Casal do Paço are situated in a south facing amphitheater north of the Lima River on gentle slopes with cool Atlantic breezes. The winemaking is traditional, taking place in the basement beneath the main house. The cave is buried and naturally cool and damp. They once again straddle the line between modern and traditional character with the addition of modern stainless steel equipment and traditional open top lagars, granite stone tanks, for red wine production.Rating(s)$29.9022 -
Rhys Perpetual Reserve California Sparkling Wine (Was $75)
Winery Notes- This year’s release of Perpetual Reserve displays the same energetic and delicious character that has made previous releases so popular. Utilizing fruit from both our Bearwallow and Mt. Pajaro estate vineyards, it is made in a solera style by blending the current vintage with reserve wines dating back to 2016 and aging on the lees for two years. This process not only creates a beautiful sparkling wine, it also offers tremendous consistency each year.$49.9013 -

2015 Gloria Ferrer Royal Cuvee Carneros Sparkling Wine (Was $50)
Winery Notes- Aromas of light citrus and apple in the background lead into an explosion of fresh green apple, crisp pear, and subtle lemon zest flavors on the palate. Verrier & Fils Brut Fleuron Champagne (Was $100)
Winery Notes- The colour of this Cuvée Fleuron is particularly luminous. It has a yellow-gold colour with very light green reflections and sparkles pleasantly thanks to the presence of extremely fine and numerous bubbles. A beautiful string of foam punctuates the effervescence on the surface. The general presentation, fresh and distinguished, testifies to the quality of the blend. The first nose, although of medium intensity, offers a very fine expression. It delivers aromas of fresh butter, almond, bergamot and thyme. With aeration, it reveals aromas of candied lemons and oranges on a very racy background of minerality. After ten minutes, the finesse of expression doubles with aromas of white flowers and limestone. The "air hold" after twenty minutes shows the stability of the wine as well as its potential. Although still a little discreet, but fine, distinguished and distinguished, this nose is one of the great classics of Champagne. The attack on the palate is lively, with a beautiful effervescence immediately relayed by the freshness of the wine. It is this acidic edge that will set the tempo of the tasting until the finish. The vinosity and slightly warm character of the wine simply accompany the freshness, while the dosage is almost imperceptible. The wine stands upright and seems airy. The effervescence remains creamy until the finish and produces a tender, very caressing texture. The finish is acidic and mineral at the same time. Extremely precise, it gives an impression of purity and ends with a good aromatic length (about six seconds). The wine ends its course with some aromas of lemons, iodine and butter.$49.9014 -

2023 Giornata Orangotango San Luis Obispo White Blend (Orange Wine) (Was $25)
Winery Notes- Orangotango is a wine that defies expectation. Technically an "orange" wine, it is a blend of several white varieties that were fermented on their skins. Unlike most orange wines, this lot was filtered prior to bottling, giving the consumer something that is decidedly more approachable than most in the genre tend to be.$18.904 -
2021 Folktale The Lion For Real Skin Fermented Monterey County White Wine (Orange Wine)
Winery Notes- At it’s core, this is a skin fermented white wine thatis a blend of every vintage since 2017. We’re making this in a Solera-style, where each year we blend in a fresh, young vintage giving the wine vibrancy and an aromatic boost. But, on the flipside, having a significant aged portion allows for the wine to express itself in a more mature way, blending itself beautifully into many food pairings you might throw at it. It’s more diverse than you think, and being un-fined and un-filtered means that you’re tasting the wine in it’s natural setting- just as Mother Nature (and we) intended. Components from the 2021 portion consisted predominantly of Chardonnay from Massa Estatein Carmel Valley – an organically farmed vineyard in the Santa Lucia Mountains. The grapes were destemmed and natively fermented in small open top tanks. Pressing in our basket press took place once the fermentations wrapped up and and the wine was racked to neutral French oak to age. Blending of the 2021 portion and the solera took place just before bottling in June 2022.$24.903 -
Folktale California Brut Sparkling Wine
Winery Notes- Folktale sparkling wine begins in the vineyard, early. Grapes for sparkling wine have to be picked at a lower sugar level than for our still wines, so we tend to harvest 3 weeks before we begin picking fruit for our still wines. For our first bottling of sparkling wine, we envisioned a wine that was bright, fun to drink, and food friendly. We put the blend together in a stainless steel tank and add bubbles through a forced carbonation method. This allows us to control the level of effervescence and achieve the desired texture of the wine. We targeted a softer, less aggressive style that was more like the texture of a prosseco or frizzante wine – perfect for a sunny day in Carmel Valley.$24.908 -
2021 Folktale Talking Animals Pétillant-Naturel (Pet-Nat) Sparkling Wine
Winery Notes- Pétillant Natural is a natural sparkling wine using the ancestral method. Bottled just before the primary fermentation finishes, the natural effervescence and sediment are the evidence of things finishing in the bottle. The wine is bright, with notes of green apple, banana cream pie, grapefruit blossom, and undertones of guava and pineapple. The palate is lively and fresh, benefitting from the abundance of bubbles and bright acidity.$29.907 -
